You dont splice into any part of the sound system with this upgrade it is 100% plug and play... other than hooking up the power wires.

The sub only kit does require you to splice into your speakers wires. I should know, they sent me this kit by mistake before sending me the full kit with is truly a plug-n-play system. I should have paid more attention to the directions that came with it. The splice connectors looked just like these...

sorry to necro this thread- would the kicker 400 upgrade (200w speaker amp, 200w sub amp, and sub) work with a 2014 crew cab all star edition w/adjustable pedals? The product description says it wont, but... I'm curious. If anyone has this setup, please let me know! Thanks!

Hmm... I've read that the location where you mount the dsp amp is taken up by the adjustable pedals... Can anyone confirm this? Or, even better, has anyone with adjustable pedals installed the 400 system? Still unsure as to why I wouldnt be able to simply relocate it... Thanks in advance!

Just do it.. you'll love it. best part is you wont need to put in different speakers either... I can run almost max volume and its significantly louder/cleaner/more bass than stock and doesnt distort out.

if youre used to the thump of 2 12's and super bright highs and punchy mid range this wont be for you. but if you're wanting the best $900 warranty keeping sound upgrade that really rocks the house for stock then this is your animal. Get ready to readjust your EQ. Id put it all to flat before doing the install so you can be most impressed with the initial turn on.

Video won't do anything... you can't feel the bass with a video. I'm sure the speaker kicks well. But I also think ( as covered before) that for about same price you can have a BETTER set up custom built - like I did.

I like the fact that the kicker is made for our trucks.. but my custom box fits like a glove as well.

Installed the 200/400 system over the weekend. Here is my opinion, it was easy to install, but i would expect a few hours. My kit was missing the instuctions for the front amp but it was pretty self explanitory once i figured exactly where the amp went and how to get the dash apart to attach the jumper harness. It is 100% plug and play with the 200/400, no splicing :). I would give it an 8 out of 10 for sound, it definitly filled out the sound. The door and dash speakers do sound better and the bass is pretty good for what it is. The system as a whole met my expectations, although i do think it is a little over priced, this should scratch most peoples itch for a little more in the audio dept. I will still probably upgrade to a custom system someday but that definitly won't be anytime soon....
