Does this sound better then the factory bose system?

Posted

I don't have a factory bose. but it's much better than stock.

I have had mine for awhile now and it feels like the sound us better now than when I first installed. I know that is crazy.

For those who only have the 200w sub/amp setup, I'm curious as to your tune sound settings. Can you share a pic of you Balance and Bass, Treble, Mid.

I think the bass is excellent when listening to my ipod plugged into the media. However, the bass is a bit sloppy with radio.

I'm happy though, gave the truck some bass that it badly needed.

I have the amp and the sub combo. I run everything flat, but I mostly listen to XM. Haven't really listened to FM.

Thanks for the reply, I assume Flat down the middle?

Yes, treble, mid, and bass all run at 0. With the amp, I noticed a lot more highs and better soundstage up front. Keeping everything flat allows the bass to not be too boomy and voices come through. I'll have to play around with FM.

Yes I have it installed in my SLT with Bose. The Bose amp is behind the back seat and not under the dash and the kicker sub has it externally mounted to keep it from overheating I guess.

I received my sub and DSP kit yesterday. I will be installing Saturday morning. Ive read about wires just barely being long enough. Is it worth it for me to go out and buy a small roll of wire and some crimp connectors? I dont want to cut into the supplied wires, but if it means making the install way easier then ill do it.

Not worth it, i recommend not leaving any slack in the door sills so that when you connect it to the sub/amp it is not as tight even though it will be just enough to connect it.

I agree. The supplied wires should have been 6" longer so don't leave any slack and you'll be fine.

Does anyone have an RPM based whine in the speakers after install at low volume? I do and it's driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

Nothing here. You have the 200w setup or 400w?
