Yet another GM recall ( again)

Dang, another recall. This is starting to sound like a Toyota epidemic...

They passed Toyota a while ago.

You know I understand the need to keep costs competitive when building thousands and thousands of machines. But to slack off on something as important as the ignition. The SOLE part of the vehicle that keeps it running. It really amazes me. You'd think they would want that part to be bullet proof, bomb proof, shake proof, etc. Not just be able to let the key wiggle out while running and immediately shut down the engine. Seriously ridiciulous.

This is just GM being overly cautious now, a guy wrote an article about trying it on a camaro and did it while in a parking lot and said he had to try to get the key to switch to the off position. He also said the way he had the steering wheel positioned was pretty unnatural for how he would be driving to accomplish the feat.

Did you read the article? GM said they know of at least four injuries from this. That isn't being cautious.

Unlike some others, I agree with ya. GM is being cautious in that they are trying to make sure that this doesn't continue. As someone else has stated in another thread, atleast GM is actually proactive with correcting issues that come up with their vehicles. Most others would probably just wait till a car goes into the shop for maintenance and then say "oh hey, this could've happened because there was aparently an issue with ____ during the time that your vehicle was built"
