How do you clean your truck?

I have used MR. CLEAN AUTODRY since 2004

I follow the directions for a spot free carwash every time.

This was my favorite Automotive product.

Unfortunately P&G discontinued it in 2009 and is no longer on the shelf.

I stocked up on refill soap and filters when I had the chance.

You can still find it on Ebay but it is now liquid gold and sells for $50 a refill.

My Mr Clean lifetime stash of soap is now valued at about $6,000 or more at that

rate.

Just did a complete detail this past weekend. Hand washed with meguiars gold class soap, clayed with meguiars, used nufinish polish to finish it off. Washed the wheels with same soap with mf towel and applied some nufinish also. Used black magic tire shine by applying with foam applicator instead of spraying straight on tire. As far as inside just used duster amd shopvac. Used windex for inside window rain for outside. Also applied a coating of meguiars black finish to plastic trim. Looks a little better than when I bought it!

For those with aftermarket film tint - DO NOT USE WINDEX unless, like it was said before, you like the look of purple, bubbled or lifting tint. Personally, it's not the look I'm after.

There is some pretty scary sounding advice int eh thread so far. I would never wash a car with just water or with just a towel or mitt. You need to lift the dirt off the paint and release from your mitt. Using just water or just a mitt without rinsing it in a bucket spreads the dirt around causing swirls.

Personally, I use a two bucket method. I use one bucket with water and a car wash (Meguair's Gold Class) and one with just clean water. I rinse the panel down to get off the loose dirt, then clean it with a soapy mitt. I rinse the mitt off in the clean water bucket before it goes back into my soapy water. I rinse the panel and move on to the next panel. After I am done, I dry with a waffle weave microfiber towels with little pressure. I bust out the leaf blower to get the crevices dry, and then wipe off that water.

I do try to follow up with a quick detail spray. Clearkote Quick Shine is still my favorite. It works on the paint, glass and chrome to get it shiny and streak free. Interior glass get a dedicated auto glass cleaner like Stoner invisible Glass or Eagle One 20/20. I like Poorboy's World Leather Stuff on my leather and vinyl surfaces. It has a mild cleaner and protectant in it along with the crucial UV protection.

I use a tire cleaner on the tire before washing. Wheels get car soap after I've washed all of the panels. Tires get whatever medium to matte protectant I have on hand with a foam applicator. I wipe off the excess after several minutes. .

I don't, just buy a new one with the one I have gets dirty. Actually that's just wrong, I am a fanatic when it comes to my automobiles and as a result have a compulsive disorder about it.

Zaino !!, check it out if your unfamiliar with this small business owned brand.

NEWM's method is exactly how I washed my Vette for years and will be what I do for the Denali as well when I get around to washing the poor guy. Also I've used Meguiars products for at least 15 years or so. As the other guys have mentioned stay the hell away from Armorall don't be putting that stuff on your leather. Enjoy!

I just run mine through the full service car wash. You don't notice the swirls as bad on the white diamond. I was really into detailing when I was younger, even did it on the side for some extra cash, but I don't have the time to spend 3-4 hours going over my truck every weekend anymore.

Invisible glass to clean windows. You can get it a lot of places now; most auto parts store and walmart should cover it for most people.

As stated above the idea is to suspend the particles and remove them. Sort of like oil does for the motor.

I'd like to know what everyone is using on the leather seats and how they like the outcome.

I mix it up between car spas and doing it myself. Meguiars has always done me right. I get asked how I keep me vehicles looking brand new.

Spend a little time on the Adams site watching the videos, learn to do it right and you'll see that it is time well spent
