Tool Box LED Lighting Install - Constant Power Source?

This weekend I'm install led lighting in the tool box for my 2014 Sierra. I'm going to install a magnetic switch so the lights come on when the tool box is open. I would prefer to piggyback onto the nearest "constant 12V power source in the rear of the truck". Does anyone have any experience on where the closest power source that is constant would be near a tool box in our trucks? I would really rather not run a power wire all the way to the battery. Thanks for any input!

For as little as you will be using those lights, a battery powered light would be much more simple.

Trailer wiring would be the way to go. I did two battery lights and with temps (hot cold etc) the battery's don't last for crap. Next toolbox/truck I am going to hardwire

I'm set on hard wiring these. If anyone can think of a constant power source I would appreciate it.

Do you have a diagram of where this wiring runs in the area a toolbox would be mounted?

You would have to run it from the back of the truck to the bed

Follow the trailer harness back up the frame rail and tap in at front of bed.

Which wire do I butt splice onto for constant power?

Find the wire that goes to the plug. The black wire is12v
