Regarding oil pumps, I believe the pump is the same from the 5.3 to the 6.2 truck.

Mobil 1, is available in many viscosities:

All these engines are new. GM wouldn't have spec'd a different oil for the V6 vs the V8's if they didn't have a reason.

Considering these engines are of no tighter specs than the LS's are which also ran oil pressure dependent cam phasers and afm lifters. .. but ran fine with 5w30... what does that tell you. 0w20 is the minimal drag oil they could still get adequate protection from and got the best fuel economy results with.... that's all they care and all that matters for testing.

 

Run the 5w30 and watch your truck be absolutely fine...
