Same issues It shifts up when it should shift down. It doesn't shift when it should. Not sure what part or parts are going end up on the road but It wont be long and i will be able to tell you. have had it back to the dealer 3 times and the last time the service manager went for a ride with me ( didn't need to go far ) and his response was ( going to love this one ) yep just like the rest i've seen and all he is told to say it's PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. If thats what I get for 50 grand GM'S has more issues than I thought.. 2015 Fords will be out soon.....

Here is an update for any of you that are having these same problems.

After several ECM reprograms and more trips to the dealer than I care to elaborate on the problems are all still there along with a few new ones. GM has offered to buy the truck back but at nowhere near an acceptable price and we are still working with them to get this resolved.

Anyone with the radio/dash knob lighting issues where not all the knobs light up are supposed to.

On our last trip to a dealer for other more serious repairs, we also mentioned that not all the backlights on the dash knobs work correctly and they said they would look at it.

When we get the truck back they hand us a technical service bulletin from GM that basically states “running change from the factory” working as intended “some trucks are not lit” but now all the new trucks are.

Now here’s the crappy part. We noticed later that night, the dealer reprogrammed something on the truck so now the backlights that “were working on the knobs before we took it in” are now not lit anymore. So not only did we get a “sorry GM says we can’t fix it – it’s working as intended” they also reprogrammed lights that were working and turned them off. Our owner’s manual with instructions on how to use the radio shows all of those backlights working in the diagrams and pictures - something stinks here…..

If anyone has the 20” chrome GM rims take a close look at them for blisters starting to form under the chrome. One of our rims started to delaminate and had several bubbles starting to appear in a line under the chrome.

We still have constant computer issues and errors messages with the my-link system, backup camera problems, green screen, black screen, camera coming on while in drive on the freeway and the radio will just quit working for no reason at random. The drivers display and the radio display get stuck on the phone screens and will not return to what they were on before you received/placed your call like it did when the truck was new. The lane departure recognition system will not work correctly for lines on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

We still have ECM/TCM problems. When coming to a stop at a light the engine will start surging from 500rpm (idle) down to 300rpm and back up (almost like a vacuum leak). When the outside air temperature is over 90-95+ degrees and you attempt to make turns while accelerating the truck will hesitate/stall out/stumble shifts, we don’t think it is safe to drive but according to GM – “No codes, No Problems, nothing to repair”.

Our gas mileage has been consistently around 10-12mpg since our first ECM reprogram.

Drivers and passengers seats feel loose and something is rolling/sliding around inside the passenger’s seat making noise. The cooled seat feature does not work correctly and no dealer has even attempted to repair it even though the issue was verified and signed off on by a service manager and the problem has been listed on several work orders. The problem just continues to be ignored.

I guess this makes me feel a little better about the nitnoid issues I've had with mine. Yikes.

Hope you get some satisfaction. I shudder to think what I'd want to do if I were you. I'd definitely be lawyering up.

No surprise here , my dealer couldn't find anything. I remember having so many issues with my 2008 z06 , so many quality issues and it's the same exact bs gm pulled years ago happening again.

Where are the supposed gm reps on here to help? Or do they just talk a good game and nothing more then internet nerds hired by gm to try and put out fires. I see them all the time on the new truck making comments but never in these problem threads. Gm= general morons.

I have a 2014 Denali and had driver seat adjustment issues and ac issue right out of the box. Dealer replaced 2 modules and the frame work beneath the driver seat. Ac issues seem ok now. Seat adjustment still broken (lumbar switch inoperative up and down and on order for 2 weeks). After replacing the frame work under the driver seat I also felt the seat shifting when the vehicle turned. The dealer did not say what they did but it seems repaired now. I too have the snapping noise from the dash and as yet have not taken it back for this issue. Hope you get results!

The last dealer we took it to for repairs pulled parts out of the passenger seat to correct problems with our loose driver’s seat and hoped that we would not notice. We found out after the fact that the parts needed to fix the seat correctly were not readily available and would have taken over a month to get from GM.

We never did get results and GM ended up buying it back (we took a loss). This was by far the worst experience we have ever had with a vehicle and would NOT recommend a 2014 5.3 1500 GM truck to anyone nor would we recommend any of the GM dealers that we took it to for repair.

That is quite a list of problems.I was wondering why 2 dealers would say don't bring it in here because they will get paid for any warranty work they do to it.I know you already said you don't need to have a video of the problems but if the dealership can't replicate the problem or there are no codes how can they fix it?I probably would tell you not to bring it back to my dealership also seems you are customer that would always come up with something to complain about.lol.I have ran into many people when I was in the auto repair business.Just an example I had a guy that bought a new set of tires off of me and he brought the car back 2 weeks later and wanted his money back because he said his new set of tires picked up too many nails and he had to have 2 flats fixed already.lol.I told him to get ******* because if he wasn't running over the nails he wouldn't have got flat tires.I told him to never bring that thing back here ever I don't care how much money I would have made he would have always had something to complain about

after a long battle with service, GM regional rep, sending mechanics and ultimately court, my friend had his 2014 silverado bought back and replaced for the driver's seat feeling loose. hitting bumps and connections between bridges, etc at highway speeds, he said the seat would sway side to side

I've never seen the like of such redundency displayed in this thread from the o.p.

Let me guess? You're one of those that thinks ALL 2014 gm trucks are lemons?

There has got to be more to this story, no way no how are 2 seperate dealerships denying warranty work on a '14 truck without some kind of substantiated reasons...

Amen. Sounds like we got one of THOSE!

My opinion is that you should have "Lemon Lawed" this critter a long time ago. WTF are you waiting for? smiley_fryingpan.gif

The BBB in CA will rule for a buyback after 3 honest attempts that are documented. I know. I had them arbitrate a 1998 Silverado for a buyback. Pretty simple process. Why the hell are you doing this to yourself? Get on with it.

The truck was bought back by GM and they agreed it had problems. You obviously did not read our posts.
We took video and pictures of the errors when they would pop up on the displays and offered them to the dealers but they didn’t want them. They wanted to see the problems themselves. We were able to reproduce some of the problems with a dealer’s top mechanic or service manager on test drives and they would say that they could tell/see that something was wrong, but since the computer system was not throwing any error codes GM would not authorize them to repair it.
We found out after the fact, several parts needed to repair the truck were NOT available and were on backorder with no future delivery date designated from out of the country. GM did not want the truck setting at the dealership waiting on parts past 30+ days so the dealers were told to push it back out even through it was unsafe to drive it. Our last 4 vehicles were all GM. Solstice, Trailblazer, Avalanche, and Silverado. What GM put us through with the Silverado, the beyond poor treatment we received, and the amount of money and time we lost to GM in the buyback we will NEVER purchase another GM.
The computer/infotainment/On-Star systems in the 2014 were/are extremely buggy and not thoroughly tested enough in real-world driving conditions to be released in our opinion. The throttle by wire computer control system is a safety hazard since the ECM/TCM gets confused too often.
FYI- Since the release of the 2014, GM has discontinued “the promised” downloadable app store for the infotainment system (one of the reasons we bought the truck). They also discontinued the service/support to the On-Star system installed (another reason we bought it, the remote start/lock app).
