Hi, Im looking at getting the cat back exhaust system {19303337} that Gm offers on our truck ,its made by Borla. Has anyone else got a cat back system for your truck and what do you think of it ? thx Borla offers two or three but I would get the S type.

GM offers? Please explain?

I wouldn't bother with the GM/Borla option. I would go with straight Borla, if anything.

I have the GM Borla cat back... I like it, not too loud but announces you when you get on the gas. The GM system leaves the flapper in that everyone seems to hate. I inquired when I bought my truck directly to Borla and was told that they didn't have a system yet for the Denali with 6.2L. I see now I could have gotten the system for $100 cheaper from Borla but would have to pay for the install... the GM option price was parts/labor installed as part of the deal.

Under gm accessories for our trucks there is about 69 parts you can get for the 14 silverado, the cat back system which is made by Borla is one of them . Hi chuckwi11- I was going to get the system from autoanything because its less than a grand,I can get one from my local dealer he said for a little off msrp but taxes will take the price up again. Free shipping if I order on internet. Can I ask about you mention a flapper ? Thx in advance if you care to explain. Thx

Thanks mike. I guess I missed that one, or forgot (more likely) about that one when I was researching a year ago? CRS!

For the 6.2L standard box like my Denali the Autoanything Borla kits are $1084 ($1029 with current special). I also have the Black Chrome tips which add ~$175 (Autoanything doesn't carry these). So total uninstalled from Autoanything would be $1254. I got the GM Borla kit at dealer cost INSTALLED for $1129.

GM installed a "flapper" valve/gate to knock at the AFM V4 drone at 45-60 mph. Basically it is a spring loaded gate that dampens the exhaust noise to cancel this noise. With the noise cancelling of the Bose system in the Denali I don't know how effective this is but GM engineered it that way.

I've read in other threads that Borla worked with GM on the official "GM Accessory version" which includes the flapper, where the version sold directly from Borla does not have the flapper.

Seems likely since the GM Borla has the exact same flapper that the OEM exhaust does

Borla offers several options, cat back single exit in stock location, dual exits in stock location, dual exit out the rear, dual exits behind rear wheels, etc. I bought directly from Borla for 1068 total to my door. Installation was simple and straight forward and took less than an hour.

Borla S-type here! Love it!! Dual side exit behind rear tires is what I got. Autoanything has it for the cheapest price. Shipped to my door in 2 days after ordering.

.........hi, can I ask,is the s type any bothersome while driving your truck from stand still to crusing at 50 constantly ? Do u know if your exhaust has this flapper people are talking about . Thx

Not bothersome at all!! sounds great!! The S-type does NOT have the flapper valve. the only Borla for our trucks that has the flapper valve is the touring model sold directly from GM. If you buy one of the 3 systems (Touring, S-type, Atak) available for our trucks from Borla or a distributor there is no flapper valve. IMO, there is no need for the flapper valve I cant notice a difference when its in V4.
