If it hasn't been said yet its the speed ratings on the tires, that's it. All terrain tires, more heat. High speed tires less heat. I moved mine up to 135 with a tune. Sometimes on the Texas two lanes 98 is to low to finish a pass, when you start at 65 in a 75 you want the option for a little more if a car is coming at you in the distance.

I THOUGHT THE GEARING IN THE REAR END DETERMINED SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MPH NO??? LIKE IF IT HAS 4.10 GEARS I BELIEVE THE TRUCKS ECM WILL ALLOW IT TO GO HIGHER THEN 100. I COULD BE WRONG. HAVE YALL GUYS CHECKED OUT YALLS BUILD SHEETS TO SEE WHAT YOUR TRUCK HAS FROM FACTORY?

Yep, another case of some government bureaucrat substituting his judgment for ours, and actually endangering us. TSA, Patriot Act, etc. There are a lot of cowards in the "Home of the Brave" in the last few years who accept the government's wisdom overriding our own personal freedoms. Ironically, in many instances they seem to get it wrong. Great example.

I live in Houston and you have old ladies doing 80 to 85 on the freeway. It's the way it is here.

Its to keep you fools who want to do over 100mph in a truck from killing yourselves and someone else.....

:banghead:

So why don't the "fools" in the sports cars have speed limiters set at a much lower speed? Just saying, idiots drive any kind of vehicle, not just trucks. A car going 150mph hits a tree...it still hurts.

Not saying it's safe to drive that fast at all but I'd rather do 100 in a Toyota Camry than a truck that has a high center of gravity aka rollover central. There is no need to do over 98 mph in this truck. None.

Id like to know the results of that vote. First you have to find a camry to do over one hundred mile per hour, NASCAR dont count.

None? You think you know ever situation we'll encounter here in the West? There are 85 m.p.h. Speed limits on 1-10 in Texas and I-84 in Utah. I've been on both. We drive faster out here and quite safely. Toyota Camry? LOL Gimme a break.

112. Pity. Still pulling hard

Also, can't set the cruise above 108. Also disappointing.

10 mpg @ 112 mph though! LOL. Beat my Dodge @ 55.

Well..ya see...my foot got tired and, well, you know how it is. Hard to text and focus on speed regulation at the same time.
