The entire fit and finish is much nicer with a ford IMO, GM had fallen behind in the interior...it's nice but not as nice I don't think. That and you can still get into a decently equipped f-150 for 35-40 grand including a maintenance package, try that in Canada at a GM dealer. You won't find it. No wonder why they are offering 0% for 84 months for 14's, nobody wants them.

 

I'm not knockin GM. I love them, but let's just face some facts here boys Ford F-150 is REALLY hard to compete with these days..

 

As for the ones at work I don't have a clue I just know the ones we have have been gone a lot. My buddy is fleet manager, he told me they have been at the dealer alot. I go straight for 1 ton trucks so I don't kno exactky what happened but I could ask and find out. By a few, I meant like 30. We have over 100 truck in our fleet... Not just a couple bad apples either he was tellin me the GM's have been brutal.

 

Fun fact - ford f-150 has out sold Sierra and silverado for years in Canada. Their is a reason for it...

 

Once again I'm reading MPG in a truck thread, they are all awesome on fuel now. Over the life of the vehicle they are all so close in fuel price...who really cares

 

 

I test drove an ltz awhile ago, it was nice but kinda meh for the 60k price tag...a similar equipped ford would be like 45-50. With a 3 year maintenance package

 

I priced out F150's when I was looking and they are priced around the exact same as a GMC. Fit and finish IMO is about the same with the newer body style GMC/Chevy. With the older trucks, yes I agree GM's interiors are cheap. My mom has a 09 Tahoe LTZ and I can't believe people paid 60k for that kind of interior.

 

What LTZ did you test drive? A Duramax? Half ton LTZ's do not go into the 60K range, the Duramax's do. Mine stickered a little over 50K and the ford I drove which had the exact same options was just about the same. The idea of a similarly equipped ford stickering for 10K less is not reality.

I'm not sure where some of you are getting these awful deals from. I got my LT (granted not top of the line but still decently equipped, as you say) out the door for LESS than 35K.

My buddy bought a 14 f-150 with leather, and sunroof for 35. Basically like an SLT-1 equipped truck. With a 3 year maintenance package. GM's prices are waaay higher than fords, you simply cannot deny that.

No, the one I test drove had a sticker price of 52... Times that by 13% and tack on any extras you hit 60 no problem. Jesus an LTZ Duramax in Ontario you are look at 70+ easily

Go to GM.ca and build urself a loaded silverado...times the final price by 13% see what you get...then you gotta remember the extra 2-3000 they try and get you for other shit before you sign too.

Here's one at a dealer close to where I work in Alberta, add the 2500 dollar warranty, $600 undercoat, and 5% taxes. In Ontario that would be 13%!!!

 

Those prices are insane compared to similar equipped fords!!

When it gets down to it there all going to be within a grand of each other, unless they have too much stock and not selling. That may be the case with Ford in your area. In my area when I bought mine GM was much cheaper. I like GM but not buy 10K. Id even drive a dodge for 5K less. Well maybe.

Fords in my opinion do not have a nicer interior. I wanted a Raptor so bad before switching to gmc basically because it is badass. I grew up haha.

 

Anyways, my buddy's dad just leased a new 14 fx4 ecoboost absolutely loaded up. I got to ride in it and I was not impressed with the amount of cheap plastic all around me. Honestly if the new ford came out last year, I'd probably be buying a ford instead of a gmc.

I Also test drove a Ram sport, everyone raves about the rams interior quality and ride. I wasn't impressed with either. Dash was nice but the doors and console were plastic and already rattled in a new truck. The ride was so stiff as well.

 

Maybe by the time I get my next truck they'll have all the kinks worked out with the new aluminum fords and ill be able to afford a Raptor... Haha

I have a 2014 Silverado LT Z71 Double Cab with the 5.3. I did a lot of research on the 2014's while I was waiting for delivery. I ordered it in late April, and it was built in late June. Due to some snags in shipping, I didn't actually get it until August 2.

 

Anyway, I to was somewhat concerned what with all the problems that seemed to be plaguing the 14's, but as others have said, check with the 80% who are completely satisfied. I think a lot of the early problems were related to the early build models. Once the feedback started, I think most of the issues were corrected at the factory. I might be a little wary of buying a "new old stock", meaning it was actually built in 2013, but I think GM had most of the problems figured out by early 2014.

 

My truck is absolutely perfect. .....I can't find anything at all to complain about. Will it stay this way.....who knows, but thats' what warranty is for. I don't mind a few adjustments updates etc. during the warranty period. I expect a certain amount of warranty issues with any new vehicle I buy.

 

I am a die hard Chevy guy, and have had a fair number of Silverados over the years. As a matter of fact, the one I had prior to the 2014, was a 2007, just what you had. The new truck is "head and shoulders" above the '07, which I didn't think was all that bad, but between the two......no comparison.

 

The ride is far better than the 07, and this time I have the Z71, and the 07 was just a 4X4, so you would think the 4X4 ride would be a little nicer......NOT. The quietness, the way the vehicle handles is something you have to experience, and not only during a test drive. You really can't form an opinion of anything during a 15 minute test drive. The truck is like driving a "Big" luxury car. I also have a 2011 Buick Lacross, a very quiet car, and I think the truck is pretty much in the same league.

I did a ford f150 Limited build online. The MSRP was 65,899. Net price after discounts was 53,717. Denali build MSRP was 65,110 and 59,110 after discounts.

 

All amounts were in CDN $.

Ahh did not notice you are in Canada. Around here Fords are on par with the price of the GMC. Of course it is going to differ depending on what region/dealers you are dealing with.

Well here she is! Took her up to 80 feels pretty smooth to me. Out the door price was $44k, with a trade in of my Ford for $29K, so only paid about $15k total. Sold another Ford (an ST) for $18.5, so came out with $3k in my pocket.

 

This picture shows my buddys Platinum (33s I think, with a 2.5" level). Looks like a boy toy compared to the GMC IMO!
