I love my silverado 4wd z71! When seeking advice. Remember this is an online forum that is the first stop where people go to troubleshoot/vent about issues. Those who are experiencing issues will inherently be those who are more vocal. Good luck with your decision- I wouldnt trade my truck for anything at this point

My exact thoughts...

Curtis... Congrats on the new truck! Looks awesome. I'm sure you'll be as happy with yours as I am with mine.

Mattmonay summed it up when he said... "I wouldn't trade my truck for anything"! Same here.

I have never met anyone personally who belongs to this forum.

That being said, every time I see and have an opportunity to talk to a new '14 owner, I ask them how they like their new truck.

Without hesitation, every one has said "Love it!". (or something equivalent).

I see new Chevy truck owners several times a week (Grocery store, gas station, mall, jobsite, workplace).

That's a pretty fair sampling. Nothing but praise, no complaints!!!

I would say I love it, but its been in the shop for the last three weeks. Nothing GMC's fault, it was rear-ended by a Hummer H2. Only had it 2 weeks, but drove 2700 comfortable, quiet and vibration-free miles before the accident.

I didn't have the heart to "like" your post! Won't be long, you'll have it back good as new!

I compared all five (GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota and Nissan) and bought a 14 SLE All-Terrain. I love it! Smooth, comfortable, loaded (everything except leather and sunroof) for $34K (sticker in California was $46K). Rear suspension is slightly rougher than on the 2012 Ram 1500 I traded (Ram uses coil springs), but otherwise its much nicer than anything else I saw.

Supposed to be back on Tuesday. Will have been in the shop a total of 4 weeks, most of which was waiting for body panels. Because it was so new, I demanded (and received) genuine factory replacement panels and apparently nobody else had to have a bed floor replaced yet.

I was hit by a lifted Hummer H2. Fortunately his frame hit my tailgate, so lots of damage to the tailgate, sides and floor of the bed and the rear bumper, but absolutely no frame damage.

Well here she is! Took her up to 80 feels pretty smooth to me. Out the door price was $44k, with a trade in of my Ford for $29K, so only paid about $15k total. Sold another Ford (an ST) for $18.5, so came out with $3k in my pocket.

This picture shows my buddys Platinum (33s I think, with a 2.5" level). Looks like a boy toy compared to the GMC IMO!attachicon.gif20140912_184418.jpg

Beautiful truck

What options? MSRP?

Everything except for Sunroof, and Bose sound system I think... it's an SLT z71 4wd with a tan color leather interior, nav, bedliner, running boards...Gonna try and sell the bed liner as I want a spray in... oh and it has the 3.42 rear axle ratio

Nice truck and all the right options!

Ahh did not notice you are in Canada. Around here Fords are on par with the price of the GMC. Of course it is going to differ depending on what region/dealers you are dealing with.

In 2013, Fords were a couple thousand more than GM was offering when spec'd roughly the same. Just how it works with out going model vs new. Am sure Ford will stop the give away stuff with the 2015's as they are having to completely retool each plant at separate times to adjust to the recycled beer can body panels.

Glad the op got the truck & posted it up here.
