Call if what you want, but GM announced it as availability early Q4 2014.

And that seems to be what is happening.

I really don't understand the complaints about the 3:08. I love mine and it has plenty of power even when towing. Yup it downshifts. That is how GM keeps the tranny cool and from lugging and burning it up. Let the 5.3 scream if needed. It loves it.

Hopefully the GMC sierra will get body colored fender arches instead of the standard black plastic. Better yet ditch the plastic all together!

Maybe a duramax half ton by 2016 model year? Please!

Doubt it

Talkin about 1/2 ton duramax

Sounds appealing doesnt it, it did to me. But if its comparable to what dodge is doing, waste of time and breath. As what dodge has is less capability than the hemi. To top it off factor in the price of disel against the 4k upcharge for the diesel in the ram, and then look at MPG. You will never make the money back and will not have something that tows more than gas engines. Just wont.

GM will wait and see how Ram does with it as will ford. The thing is if Ram cant make it work with a diesel as Rams have always had the market on the engine it self, then you wont see a duramax. reality is with the price of diesel the future is in smaller displcament with turbos. With diesel averaging 50 cents more a gallon you wont see this take off.

Nope. The EPA has killed the feasibility of a small economical diesel truck or car.

lol Tell that to VW who can't build TDI models fast enough.

I said economical feasibility, of course they sell a lot that's what they specialize in. But is it economical to buy a tdi still? Compared the the gas engine? Not really...sale price, price of diesel...I'm guessing you would have to drive the diesel for 10 years to make it worth while...

Just like anything else now, Duramax included...

The cost of the diesel in a VW is nothing like adding a Duramax to an HD. As for it making economic sense- no idea. I know when I ran numbers on a TDI vs gas 4 cyl Passat it was cheaper in fuel cost per mile for the diesel by two cents. But honestly I could care less about that. If I got one it'd be for the epic 700+ miles per tank.
