if you look further, they list almost every car as having issues. they say ram/jeep/Chrysler is the worst, but then say chevy/gmc are the worst. i think they are just feeding negativity. its new, so there will be bugs/problems. thats obvious because they say the tundra has no issues, but then again its boring and outdated lol.

Ehhh.... I can say my first 14 sucked, and couldn't be happier with my second. I'm curious to see how the 15 Mustang and F150 fare...

Not surprised the QC seems a bit shotty.

But then again...every new model is gonna have issues.

I haven't had a single problem with mine and I am very picky when it comes to autos. Critics have there own opinions and they are just like AHs as everyone has one.

I have had all of the recall issues and some other things here and there, it's not perfect by any means but I bought the first year of a new model so I expected some bugs.

That being said I had a lot of recalls and issues on my 2006 F-150 FX4, major issues with the 4 wheel drive system where the hubs dumped water into the accuators and fried the electronics so the hubs never fully locked. Prior to that I had a 2004 F-150 STX that collected water down the A-Pillar and pooled up in the still where all of the wiring was, also overflowed into the cab. I had that fixed 3 times until I got rid of it. Looking back my 1994 F-150 5.0 was the most problem free vehcile I ever had but that is the beauty of simplicity.

Two major things to consider here:

1) Working in operations I know a lot about issues arrising and you can't avoid it, it's how you handle the issues that really make the difference. At least to this point my dealings with GM have been pleasent, frequesnt but pleasent.

2) How can you really tell the long term reliability of a new model only a year into it's offering? Let's talk a decade from now when these trucks have 300k+ on original drivetrains or not?

I am not stupid enough to say, it's a Chevy it will run forever without any thought behind it. However, that would be an accurate track record for the majority of the truck models that they have made. These magazines are so quick to take advtange of bad press after all you can only do so many reviews before it gets boring.

I feel bad for people who have a problem truck, this truck by far is the smoothest, quietest most fun regular truck id ever owned. My wife drives a 2011 Geneses Sedan, in 2011 a few car mags rated it no 1 in quality and performance, it stays home and we take the truck when we ride together. Im at 10k miles and almost one year, by now I would be starting to think about whats next, this is new for me. This could be a keeper, that would totally freak people out who know me.

yepp count me in as a disspointed 14 owner

I have been to the dealer 4 times now in a little over a month of owing this truck .

Tranny issues, radio issues, seat issues , rattle in passenger door, windows not sealed properly , sun roof mis alignment issues . gauge cluster recall and also transfer case recall.

I have had 3 new GM cars before but my last NEW GM car was a 2008 Z06 , so I really though the quality issues were addressed but here iam . Listen I love my truck just as much as the next guy but it sucks paying money forsomething you cant use.

Wow.. here we have a ton of people posting about issues with their new Silverado/Sierras and yet there is surprise that someone has rated these trucks as not being reliable.. hmmm

I found this site to be interesting. Don't know how accurate their data is but it sure shows patterns over the years. Both GM and Ford have distinct patterns of reliability. For the Sierra 1500, it looks like every seven years. For Ford's F-150, looks like every six.

Here's to all who troll this cite who actually don't own a 2014 Chevy/GMC and yet knock these trucks; you should consider go....... Ah, I can't say what I want here, use your imagination.

I for one isn't going to get rid of my truck over minor but nagging issues, I'll deal with them.
