My 2014 Chevy Silverado LT (2w/d) and I currently have 275/55-r20 GoodYear Wrangler Duratrac (35psi) , which are mounted on 20x8.5 XD Rockstars Gen 1... And I am having problems , I know about the all the vibration threads on here and in all the other forums, but for some reason I have vibrations from about 65 and up.. It's not a hating vibration, but it is felt and when I reach those speeds the front middle console shacks like crazy .. So long story short I have had discount tire re balance then 4 times and it doesn't seem to go away, but with every time the do balance them the vibration is less and less .. This last time the said that they would make it right and let me swap tires.. I am looking at;

Nitto Terra Grappler G2 - 275-55/r20

Toyo Open Country AT II - "

BF Goodrich AT KO 2 - "

Out of the three which would be the better or what is your experience with them??

Any help is appreciated

Sorry it's so long !

Thanks:

I know i'm new and all to a vehicle scene as a hobby but...i would go toyo. Buddy has ATIIs that are doing great, my cousin has M/Ts that are doing great as well. I want RTs, i just like Toyo and a 65,000 mile tread warranty is nice for the ATIIs.

Second choice out of the selection would be the Nitto, i'm not wild about the aesthetic of the BFG.

I would also throw in the Cooper ST Maxx.

For tires that i've had use with, would only be MTs on our farm trucks of which Cooper Discoverers and firestone destinations have been pretty good. Really liked the discoverers when dad had them on his truck.

Toyo or Nitto. Those are excellent tires and usually cost much less than the over priced and over rated BFGs. Honestly I would choose based on the price first and appearance second.

I would do the Toyo's on the list, but also take a look at General Grabber AT2's, they're amazing and very smooth. They're much like the BF, but IMO they're better all the way around. I have the 305/50/R20 and with about 20k on them they're still at or over 90% tread. 65k tread life warranty on that size.

I'm running 285/60/18 E General AT2's on my truck and lost about 1 mile per gallon which isn't bad considering the Generals weigh about 12lbs MORE than the horrific although long lasting Bridgestone Dueler A/T. Then again I added about 1" of tire width and 1000lbs of rating to each tire. I couldn't climb the check wall onto my lawn (12") without 4wd with the Dueler's but now with the Generals I can 2wd climb the wall and drive up on my lawn (had to do this to yank out some big shrubs... truck is my tractor lol).

Anyways, they are definitely heavy tires but if you adventure on to construction sites, hit the stone roads, off-road at all, the p-rated tires are NOT GOOD... I had a stupid rock puncture my Dueler's heading down the right-of-way on a railroad after i crossed the tracks from a farm field. anyways, i know 4 other guys with generals BEFORE I bought mine and they swear by them, including my late father-law.

These are the exact 3 tires that I was looking at. I just put the Toyo At2's on my truck this weekend in size 275-60-20 (only come in P-rated) and they ride well but I am less than impressed with them in the looks department. The Extreme size 10-plys look much better. Discount Tire by me carries the BFG KO2 in 275-60-20 for $250 ea. I am planning on swapping the Toyos for the BFG or the Terra Grappler G2. Keep us updated on how the G2's work out for you!

Looks to me like a copy of the AT2.

Honestly, it seems all tire companies do these days, is copy a different tire design from another company. They change it SLIGHTLY, and than call it their own.
