My MPG sucks first 1k miles

reset your trip meter and it should reset the mpg for that trip. start driving and you'll see it hit like 20mpg, 30mpg. then go sit at a light and watch it slowly drain back down. over the long term your'e gonna save money on gas, but city trips, remote start, and red lights will kill your mpg.

 

if i try super hard i can get 16-19 city without catching lights, but as soon as i hit 8-10 lights to and from work i'm back at 12-14 mpg. remote starts for 10 minutes on cold mornings put me at 10mpg.

Yea my all time average is aorudn 16.5 mpg. Mostley around town. I drive 11 miles to work each. There are 11 stop signs or stop lights...so a lot of stop and go.

Hey guys, I am also experiencing a drop in mileage.

I bought the truck at the end of May and in June I changed the tires to 275 Duratracs 18" stock wheels. I managed 10.7L on the highway back in August which I was very happy with however since I had 2 recalls done in Sept. the mileage has been dropping. Then I installed a 2.5" leveling kit which of course didn't help matters.

Left the bumper valance on.

Back in the summer I was averaging around 20L per in city now it's 23L.

In Sept. I was lucky to hit about 13.5L or so on the highway.

Just had it at the dealer for the first service yesterday (6000 kms) and surprisingly they haven't heard any mileage complaints....(sarcasm)....

Winter blend gas could be responsible for the drop in mileage. I've noticed mine go down some in the past few weeks.

I got 13 mpg's on my truck over 26000 kms this year. between winters and now living in the city i wouldn't expect any better than i am getting

Sorry for the dumb question but is "Winter Blend" gas used down south also or just in the colder climates?

Im not sure. They might. But I dont think texas gets below freezing very often so they might not. I am not entirely sure to be honest.

I was going to ask the same question. I am in Florida and 50 is cold here.

I could seriously care less if my milage got worse, I just wish the drivability , bucking back and forth and searching for gears was better. Worse drivability I've ever experienced

I have a lifetime of 19 on mine, as I generally take it for longer trips, but don't really worry about it. That's what my civic daily driver is for. No one buys a truck for economy

I usually average around 11.9 litres per 100 Kim's,on a recent trip I ran the truck in M5 and I actually got slightly better fuel mileage it dropped to 11.6 per 100,this could have been due to conditions but I like the way it drives in m5 seems to be more responsive and stays in 8 cylinder mode.

      After I wrote that reply I went for a ride. 85 F out. So trans started at 85 F and it shifted the same as it did an hour latter at 168 F. I've never actually recorded the to cold to shift point but it is under 32 F before they start hanging on to a lower gear or leaving the converter unlocked. Both intended to heat fluid.    Yes, brake or bake. Absolutely.      Your welcome. True research ended decades ago. Field trials are still in play.    There is a thing called oxidation onset temperature. This is the heat related oxidation not the O2 exposure kind. For mineral oil that starts at 140 F. So what happens after 140 F? Each 20 F cuts fluid life in half! Does using a Full Synthetic improve that? Yes! By how much? Depends on the base oil type and a few other factors. But enough to notice. Some esters are even higher. There are even synergies between types the will raise it higher than any one component is alone.    Then there is "Hindered" oils. Antioxidant additives. Hindered Polyol Esters can sit at 500 F for years in a turbine.   When a blender brags his oil will 'take 500 F" in service he doesn't specify for how long. Water will dance on a 500 F hot plate for several seconds. @newdude put up a chart showing the relationship between fluid temperature and it's life in an automatic transmission. Here's a version of that chart for Group III based oils. These temperatures are those in the pan as observed as 'normal'. that is you drive as you do for as long as you do under what load you ask of it and whatever that temperature is this graph applies to. Flash temperatures of a few minutes isn't what his means.    Note that fluids held at a constant 240 F have a service life of only 20K miles. 220 F explains the factory exchange limit, eh? My equipment I keep under 180 F and I'm good if the cooler will hold it as low as 140 F. But that's me.

Question, do you have to change code and republish app everytime developer updates? Thanks for your assistance, truly the only thing i cant stand about my truck is the carplay limitation
