Saw the AR discussion thread and figured there has to be some bolt/precision guys on here. Here is my setup as it sat and is.

Remington 700 5R

McMillan A-5 Pillar & Glass bedded

APA bolt knob

APA RTG

USO SN-3 3.2-17x44mm ERGO

I've ran everything from 155gr Scenars to Hornady 178gr BTHP now and everything in between and the rifle just shoots. Here is the last group i got at 500yds out of the 178gr BTHP @ 2700fps.

How it sits now. About to have it cut to 18" and put a TBAC 30CB9 brake on it for the 30CB9 suppressor on it's way. Going to keep the Leupold Mark 6 3-18X44mm on it and have a nice 18" light/truck hunting gun for 600-800yds. Will be dropping it in a manners with mini-chassis sometime and building a 6.5CM off of the McMillan A-5.

I was going to upload a couple of photos ... apparently I cannot. Oh, well.

What if our precision rifle is an AR? :D

well its not a big high powered expensive rifle, less than $250 total but its fun to shoot and suprisingly consistant at 100 yards.

I would think my Barrett M107A1 (leupold+BORS), LWRC REPR (Burris Eliminator III), and my 450 SOCOM to be precision. :) Actually, I would consider them bolt action. Critters see 'em and then bolt.

If I had a reasonably close place around here that would let me rip off 50BMGs, I'd have picked up a Barrett (likely M82) ages ago. But it would be a waste of money because I'd never be able to fire it.

My Knights Armament Mk11 Mod 0 will do the trick for now. :-)

Yup. That'll work just fine.

Ok...this started life as a Remington SPS AAC-SD - bolt handle reworked by Phoenix Tactical

I then sold off the Hogue stock and installed the action into an Accuracy International AICS chassis. I then swapped the trigger for a Timney, swapped all the skins from the AI to Viper Skins (didn't care for the thumb hole), added a 20 MOA Nightforce scope base, Nightforce rings, topped it with a Nightforce NSX 3.5-15X50, Atlas BT-47 with AI spigot. Once the Remmy barrel is shot out I'm planning on replacing it with a Bartlein or Krieger. Shoots lights out at the moment (target picture = group at 100 yards).

Did you get him with the 208g AMAX subsonic's? or standard velocity. Just wondering as i am considering subsonics for some close range night hog hunting. Always seemed iffy. if it was subsonic did the bullet exit the animal?

Mine is a Savage 111 in .30-06. It's very accurate. I like the .30-06 round, it's time tested and perfect for me.

Here is a pic. It's not tacticool but it's a shooter for sure. The accutrigger is awesome. Now if only I could get time to go shoot something with it.
