List on the lacrosse camera is $164. I get it for less but it's still over $100. It's about $40 to return it unopened but it's probably sealed up to the point it needs to be opened to know if it could fit. I'm going to find out as much as in can about both other ways.

I find that it's ok, but I am impressed that you can still see the image pretty good at night. The camera in my wife's Honda van stinks at night, can't hardly see anything.

Is there really a problem with this video image? Twice as good when sunny, just as good at night. Looks good to me.

Just went out to see if it was the movement more than the static image, but it's not and when I went to take this picture I noticed that the image on my phone actually cleared up the image that was on the screen. I can hardly read the Husky label on the box on the screen but once the screen was projected on my phone it was quite a bit clearer. Odd.76c2783607f4cec86ef2df1413100256.jpg

Yes the camara works. But I'm disappointed with the quality compared to the camera I had on my 07 Tahoe. I figured it would only get better with technology. Didn't know these topics would escalate so quickly. But thank you everyone for the input. Maybe someone will come out with an upgrade csm but till then it will work.

Haha... you wouldn't believe what topics escalate, sometimes into hundreds of posts! Sunglass holder? Cup holders? Floor mats? Plasti-Dip? LOL... Yup, everyone has an opinion and they're not shy about expressing them.

Point taken on video quality.

You may have noticed Camera-Source.com ads on this website. I spoke to Chris via email and he said they are experimenting on the 2014+ GM truck cameras and working on a plug-and-play replacement camera. He said theirs is much better clarity in the daytime, however he actually said the factory one does have a slightly better nighttime vision. (I do think the nighttime vision is ok compared to other cars I've owned)

They do have a plug-and-play replacement camera kit for the 2013 and earlier trucks, here it is: https://camera-source.com/products/gm-oe-fit/2010-2013-sierrasilveradohd-replacement-backup-camera

The image on my truck screen is not as good as the image on my wife's MB E350 but it's good enough. I don't have a problem with it.

In the summer I can have days where I hook to trailer 4 or 5 times so I can find an upgrade that helps I'll do it.

if they do make an upgrade, I would only be interested if the guidelines turn with the steering wheel like they do now.

I emailed that Chris guy again and he said the guidelines will still turn with the steering wheel.

If they figure it out...I'll take it! I can always add aux backup lamps to get the received lumens up.
