I run LT Michelin LTX M/S on my suburban. I run them at about 38 lbs unless loaded etc...and ride is ok. I get about 110,000 + on them. My 09 has P LTX M/S2. Fronts are done at 60,000. Not sure if it is the new M/S2 compound or the P rating. Will try LTs on the front for ride check. Then go LTs or P based on that.

2010 short bed regular cab, 1/2 ton, 4x4.

I ran the new toyo AT2, load range E for 10,000 miles.

After 10,000 miles they looked brand new, not a spot of ware.

45 lbs they ride fine.

55 lbs they ride noticeable rougher, but set better and seemed they would wear better.

I kept them at 55. 65lbs was worse and no notable difference in MPG so I went back down to 55 lbs.

30 lbs, where the tire shop set them they looked flat. truck was wobbly. Way to little air.

I planned load range E on the new truck. Till I read this thread.

I will be researching the MPG impact of load range E.

I love that the tires last forever... so it is a tough call.

I run load range E on my truck. The ride is completely smooth at 37psi. I even run MT tires. It really depends on the brand. Yea it's not stock, but on the freeway or even regular roads my E rated are great. I had the Michelin on my Tundra and they were great too669d3fb5a969827b57d948a373b4123e.jpg. If you are worried about MPG'S buy a prius. My truck still averages 13-18mpg depending how I drive. 4da9217de24395382981ad9b397637d2.jpg07bc08bbfb2734f4b2866351a993f3b7.jpg7f5125c840df66b3d0b35822537f39ab.jpg1b34bb89c60c43eae4e7848df1077e1e.jpg

Hey Guys thanks for the reply's! Im definitely going with the LT rated Michelins on my Silverado. Im going back and forth with the dealer now tiring to get some credit towards my new tires. Ill let you guys know how I make out. I know all LT tires are not load range E I was just saying how it seams most of them in the size I need are. I noticed a big decline in load range C and D tires sense the last time I bought a set of tires. The LTX at2s look like a great all terrain tire so far.

Hey guys, Just wanted to post an update.

I had the new Michelin LTX at2 LT tires installed yesterday by my dealer. Ive noticed that the the truck handles better on the highway right off the bat. I Haven't noticed any shake over 70mph as of yet. Unfortunately, The 45mph to 55mph vibration is still there. My dealer told me they swapped the tires off my truck with ones off another new truck on the lot and the vibration was gone. I had asked to drive the truck with the new tires originally but was told they were already put back on the other truck and it was back out on the lot. So now my dealer is mad Irritated because they covered the some of the cost of my new tires and that may have not been the problem. They want me to bring the truck back to them so they can start 'Testing' it but I dont want them to take it. I bought the truck from a GM commercial truck dealer were they have dozens of silverados on the lot and they told me they couldn't tell me if they ever had this issue before. Right now the truck is fine below 45 mph and above 55 mph. I think im just going to drive it like this untill i find that there is a known fix. I dont want them throwing parts at my new truck.

Hi Guys,

I spent the day at my GM dealer today trying to resolve the 45-55mph vibration issue on my 2014 Chevy Silverado z71. They determined that 3 of the 4 goodyear sra tires are out of round and are willing to give me some credit towards a new set of tires to resolve the issue. Im looking at the Michelin LTX at2 in the LT275/65R18 size. I want to upgrade to an LT tire but I just dont want the E load range to kill the ride. From what ive read so far it should be ok as long as the air pressure is adjusted correctly. Has anyone else run load range E tires on their half ton? thanks for your help guys

I only run LR E tires on my trucks. The last two trucks were/are 1/2 tons. They won't "kill the ride". LR E tires will give you added protection from flats, especially off-road, but also on-road. The Michelin LTX is a great tire, IMO. I'm guessing the vibe is the driveshaft.

Hey guys another update

I think I fixed the vibration issue for my truck probably 90% if not all the way. The dealer had me LT tires at 38-40 psi. They felt kinda mushy still. So today I rode the truck around and kept adjusting the pressure and when I reached a spot where it handled great I noticed the vibration was almost gone. I notice a little something but its nothing I want to bring it back to the dealer about. The better tires helped the issue

Also, some tires with nylon belts and even polyester, will have some out of round issues when cold. As the vehicle is driven and time passes, the tire smoothes out. I'd put Michelins at or near the top of the list of quality tires.

I run General Grabber AT2 Lt275/70R18 I lost 3mpg Hwy and 4mpg City. I also added 2" leveling kit and I`m completely satisfied. The ride is a little more harsh but still rides great for a truck!
