Can remote strart b changed?

With the new synthetic oils (if you use them) cold lubricant is much less of an issue. However, as pointed out above, engine fit tolerances are a concern at extreme temps. I say plug it in or let it warm up.

Help?

Thanks

I believe you have to set up an onstar account online first.

Just run a block heater. It'll keep the oil warm, then the engine will heat up MUCH quicker, as well as start easier in those deep freeze temps.

The only thing is that the block heater doesn't work until it is at least -18°c . It works good at -45 though lol.

So what is the product available and how much is it?

Got that but haven't found it yet

Are you talking about the password for your account to open the app or the PIN to send a remote start?

I "think" the password is obviously set up when you open an onstar account, the pin was set up through talking to onstar when I first activated onstar by the button.

...upon re-reading the OP, it looks like he wants to have the vehicle's interior heat up faster.

For that, running an antifreeze heater will warm the coolant to 90+ degrees, even on a 60F day giving him faster warm-up inside, as well as a warmer engine.

Racers use them in COOL temps as well....

Given the pan is well away from the water passages and in a thinwall aluminum pan well below the block, my guess is that any oil heating would be negligible at extremely low temps. My answer is to run synthetic, since I'm in that kind of cold so seldom. But some diehard mineral oil guys might find an oil heater valuable.

Personally, I rarely need much warm-up, living in Socal where the lowest overnight winter temps at my house very rarely see the 30's F and the daytime winter temps average in the 70s F.

I would SKIP on messing with freeze plugs on your truck and instead use a hose heater, you simply cut the hose in half and pipe the heater in, takes 10min. to install and works great.

I installed this one, it can be bought just about anywhere.
