For those of you who have this finished: where did you go through your firewall? Did you use the e break grommet on the floor? I would like to get into the engine compartment but can't figure out the safe/accessible spots.

i was planning to go this route but hopefully without the hassle of removing the fuse box. It is for an older model but on the drivers side, you can see a spot to pass some wires through.

Link didn't work for me, but you can run it through the same grommet as the rest of the loom. You don't have to remove the fuse box, just the cover. Pretty easy really.

 

Ok time for a little update. I know I am incredibly slow and apologize for that.

So I ordered this relay from eBay for around $4 thinking it would be the same. Not so much! It turns out this was not a latching relay. a34495ed6ffdfa2f0949f27624d8d534.jpg

So then I went back to the drawing board. I just knew I could find a 4 channel latching relay and I finally came across one from Amazon, and it was even on prime. d00614f3351b611b78187d4553987d07.jpg

I got everything hooked up and each of the first 3 relays trigger with the pedal button, park assist button, and lane departure button. For the Pedal button I ended up putting the pedal up and pedal down wires into the trigger hookup. I don't have a picture but I got everything in a small plastic case and added my ground wires to the output so the indicator lights work as well. fdd0a656a4ab9c3a671bc4686a5df5c7.jpgUp next is getting my relay box wired and mounted under the hood. I bought this box from Amazon. I plan on using the 2 additional relays to turn the headlights off and just have some rgb halos as daytime running lights.

Nice find! I was looking for one that had multiple relays but mainly wanted to test the theory. Maybe I will switch to those later. Nice setup!

 

 

Someone just said: push button it turns on, push again it turns off. So I would say it is just pins 4 and 5.

I would just do those 2 as well

Last question hopefully: did you tie the hot wire to a source that is ignition based or direct to the battery. I think I need something ignition based to run my halos or i will have to turn them off every time. If you tied to the battery battery direct have you come across an ignition based wire to tap?

I connected the latching relays to ignition power and the other relays are wired directly to the battery. When I turn off the truck everything switches off. I connected the power and ground in the location where they show the connector for the upfitter addition.

Where exactly is that? The main fuse box under the hood or is there somewhere else?

I will say that if you actually want 6 relays, the last one is very hard to find. Hint: Search for "RTT7121"

Or are you meaning in the ICEM panel? Pin 8 of terminal 1 I guess according to the upfitter bulletin. If this correct did you buy that terminal connector or just connect to that pin?

In the IECM (X61A junction block) referenced in bulletin 110e. I used pin 10 for ground and pin 11 for ign power. I used the smaller type female spade connectors with heat shrink and just plugged them directly onto the pins on the socket. Edited by AZelkhunter

Thanks for the update, I will definitely be using these. Looks easier than trying to mess with the fuse box. I was looking at the same bulletin just the updated version (110k). Pin 8 says accessory voltage and 11 is run/crank ignition voltage. So I guess either will work just depending on when I want them on. I just need to confirm 8 will work first.

Since I was looking at your link I noticed also suggestion items and one was a tap fuse adapter. I tried buying a set and they ended up to big for what the truck uses for their small fuses.

 

Do you or anyone know which one would be the correct tap fuse adapter for the small / miniature fuses on our trucks?

Fuses are not my thing. I did buy some for that relay box and ended up getting the small ones. When I looked again they were "mini blade fuses". I haven't compared them to the ones in our trucks but I bet that is them. You can search mini fuse tap and see several on Amazon. It may be worth a trip to AutoZone or something though.

I found this terminal. It looks the same as the one on the wire part. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

 

I don't know that it fits but I think I'm going to start here before I drop $40 plus for the gm oem.

No. I believe they were just a few days. Definitely less than a week.
