Heat always on?

I believe that's not how it works. The rotary dial for fan speed has no "absolute zero", the center portion is the power switch.

thats the thing, i don't want it on, period. i push the center button to turn it off, and the display on the radio even says, off. AC is off. but hot air still blows from under the dash.

tonight i drove 30 miles, the outside temp never got about 20, its currently 40 here. sensor must be bad.

The heat you are feeling is the residual coolant going through the heater core. And the air is being forced through the cowl into the cab from the motion of the truck.

Pretty much every vehicle I have driven has done something similar. set the vents to floor and you will notice it less.

I leave mine on auto, when its really cold or hot I hear it, otherwise its so quiet and comfy I don't notice it.

if you turn the climate to vent, turn the fan off with the center button on the fan, TONS of air still comes in. I'd say its equal to being normally on low. if you hit recirculate while the fan is off, the air stops. that is the original complaint of this thread.

outside air should not push the amount of air through the system that it is. we're talking sitting idle here, not driving. driving it gets even worse.

the residual air flow along with the temp set high enough the hot water enters the heating coil equates to the heater constantly on. the only solution is to lower the temp lower to offset the heat being exchanged, but still deal with the air flow no matter what.

Correct, that is the issue.

The 70 square bodies never turned off completely, but were no where near as bad as these new trucks.

Bought my 14 Sierra SLT all terrain about a week ago. I've noticed that my outside temp gauge is off. I've also noticed that there is always heat coming out of the vents, even with the AC and fan off, and on recirculate. It doesn't come out of the dash but hot air always blows under the dash, not a lot, just low heat. Could it be from my outside temp guage always reading low?

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this issue with your new Sierra. I'm unable to provide technical advice, but if further assistance is needed with this matter feel free to send me a private message with more information. I will be happy to look into this for you.

It seems all trucks do this. Its more of a design flaw then something that can be fixed.
