Ride Height -- Stock

I have seen others complain about the ride height of there new 2014. I have parked mine next to a lot of different stock 2014's and mine seems to ride low.

I have a Crew, Z71, trailering package, and standard bed.

 

My front fender measurs to 36 1/4" and my rear measurs 37 1/2". I know I will wind up doing a 1.5-2" level for front and a block or add-a-leaf in the rear. I prefer the rake.

 

My question is what do your fenders measure to on your STOCK 2014? Ground to fender.

 

My dealer can't explain to me why there is such a difference between trucks sitting right next to each other.

Same set up as yours, but with the short bed. 36 1/8 in the front, and 38 5/8 in the back.

mine are 37 in front and 39 in the back.... just ordered a 2" leveling kit but a little worried about the front sitting higher than the rear. Guess i could add a 1" lift block in the rear if that happens.

There is no way a 2in. level is going to make your front taller then rear as it takes a 2 1/2in. level to even make it LOOK higher in front.

I'm starting the think they used the same suspension and the weight of the longer bed is what sits me down more. This will have to be fixed. The wife likes the steps on the truck. I told her the truck gets a little more height or the steps come off. They get in my way.

I had a 2014 Sierra All Terrain Crew Cab z71 and GM gave me a 2015 with the same specs instead. I parked them side by side and the 2015 was higher, couldn't figure out why. I think it might just be luck of the draw.

But I noticed once that my Sierra All Terrain double cab standard bed sat a little higher than a crew cab Z71 standard bed while I was parked next to one at the dealer. That one had 18" wheels, while mine had 20" wheels. It was more noticeable at the rear end. My bed was about 2-3" higher than the other truck.

Just measured mine....CCSB 4X4

36 1/4 front

39 1/4 rear

My cousin just bought a 2015 SLT Crew Cab Short bed, and it definitely sits about 1-2" higher than mine. I noticed right away when I parked next to him.

Small level kit and oversize tires will solve your problem, mine is 4 inches taller than stock.

Wish I could avg 20. My best is 19.7 mpg. I avg around 17.4 mpg.

2015 same stock height, 36.5 front 38.5 rear. Added motofab 1.5 level front and ready lift 2.25 rear block. Also upgraded stock Goodyear for 285/55r20 bfg ko2. Now 38 front and 40 rear, need rake for hauling boat.

I installed a ready lift leveling kit. Block/spacer on top with spacer on bottom of strut ass'y. My fenders are 38 3/8 front 39 1/4 rear. This is on a 16 DCSB Z71 4wd. I personally think the ride quality went down. Im considering removing the kit too. Bot sure what to do. Or Im going to go the bilstein route and use their front shock and coil...

I noticed a little ride difference with the 1.5" block spacer up front, but not much. Was considering the bilsteins for up front as well.

Thing is when these trucks actually sit level at the fenders they appear nose high, and since he has exactly 2 inches of rake and is thinking of adding a 2 inch front level it would fall along those guidelines. The front of these trucks are chunky which helps give the appearance of the front end being taller when they are close to being level...
