Interesting I'll have to read into that more then. I was under the impression you couldn't do this but I guess I'm mistaken. It would definitely be much less headache to not have to worry about emptying the can or the can overfilling. That's my one complaint about the RX can you have no way of knowing how full it is. I've been draining it every 500 miles to get an idea of how full it's getting so I don't let it get too full and accidentally pull more oil into the intake.

I read this white paper on the subject. The one I picked seemed to have the features I read about and was apparently well built. Nothing pretty, but hey, I'm not cruising for pimple-faced gas station attendants.

Be careful about where you buy. There seemed to be two places in the US selling this separator.

This is a fake http://store.034motorsport.com/catch-can-air-oil-separator-provent-200.html

This is a genuine part. http://www.idparts.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=provent+200&osCsid=917c909d3556c587b6260c26500ef12f&x=0&y=0

I'm probably not going to buy anything at this point. I just want to read up on it. I already spent $200 on my RX catch can I plan to get my money's worth out of it haha

I ordered a Add w1 catch can today. I was wondering if anyone has tried to tap the bottom of the can and add a hose to a pitcock. I am not sure if this would cause issues or not. But I will be doing some more research and plan on doing this to mine.I want to run a line where i can reach it and not have to open the hood. Thoughts?

I guess you could do one like the bottom of an air compressor. Couldn't see it being an issue but removing the can and cleaning it out is just as easy

I do alot of driving. Around 100 miles a day. I have put over 10000 miles onmy truck since "black friday" 2014. With the amount of oil peole are getting, think it would be easier for me to just cut the wheel to the right, stick a bottle in the wheel well and turning a knob. Of course i would also clean the can regularly, but i drive alot. I was just wondering if it would affect the performance of the can? I wouldn't think so.

Most people mount their can above the extra battery tray on the driver side so you shouldn't have to run a hose to the wheel well. Just get one of those short plastic bottles that pepsi sells. They're either 16oz or 12oz.

Really though, how long does it take to pop the hood real quick and then empty the cab with a valve on the bottom.

With filter media, I get about half the can full every two weeks. It usually fills up quickly the first week and not so much the second week. It's usually straight oil at first then the condensation comes into play

I just check the dipstick and empty and clean the can when required.

I'm sure it doesn't take long, but i'm pretty sure that the Add w1 can doesn't have a a drain on the bottom. Thats why i wanted to add one, and if i add one. It would be just as easy to rig up a a remote drain line. So u don't have to pop the hood regularly on a brand new truck. I am not lazy i just like to make things easy for myself, even if it involves a hour of fab time. I have worked on every car i ever owned, and i am pretty annoyed by the fact that i need to do this to my brand new truck. I was hoping to avoid turning wrenches on this truck for as long as possible
