Wiper fluid keeps freezing

Why does my wiper fluid keep freezing? Its rated for -25 and has only gotten down to 5 degrees. Last year we had days -25 and it never froze so why now? I hit the squirter and nothing comes out its totally full but frozen like an ice block

I'd try to break the ice but the whole tank is frozen. No way i can break up the ice. I think the lines are frozen too

Either blended with summer diluting the alcohol so it was still able to freeze or maybe just a bad batch. On a warm day drain it refill with winter stuff and run the heck out of the pump to get the winter stuff into the lines. Hopefully the pump is OK.

Happened to my Z some weeks ago. The reservoir had summer formula, but it wasn't full so I poured in the winter formula and the next day, windshield washer worked again; pumpis fine.

Ok thank you all. Once it thaws out i'll do it but the high for the next 10 days is 22. Yikes!!

I would not use water. If you fail to melt it all you just dilute any alcohol there further.

Can you get -35f stuff in IL? I would consider warming a jug of that in a hot water bath and then pour that in.

Washer fluid is just methanol and water mostly. Add some alcohol and it should free itself in a few days.

Its full to the top so i guess i'll just have to put a lil bit of alcohol in and wait until the spring to use the squirter

Pop the cap and drill a little hole in it. Then pour your mixture down the hole. Although I don't have any idea about the hoses unless you remove them and thaw them individually.

Can you get it in a warm garage somewhere? I would pay for a $30.00 oil change to get it in somewhere, and thawed out so you can get some new stuff in it

Try a Hair dryer / Heat gun . that way you can point it at the tank and wriper lines . when it get's unfrozen ,drain/pump it empty, then put New stuff in. Good Luck

What I'm wondering is that the fluid should stay liquid down to -20F, but now it's frozen solid. What was the mistake? Manufacturer labeled it wrong? Did someone read the writing wrong (supposed to be 20F or +20F)? Was it somehow diluted with straight water in the reservoir?
