AMP Research Steps... OBDII By-Pass

Not even sure if that's what is called. I couldn't find anything on search.

I think there is a plug-in device that allows OBDII port to still be used even though the factory port is being used by the plug-n-play version of the AMP steps.

Anyone know what that is called and where to get one?

Thanks, Bill

Someone on here has one and talked about sending it back to get that money back and he was going to wire it himself. So maybe you can buy his. I'll have to do a little searching to find him.

Thanks Chuck... Looks like a real easy installation from the instructions.

Yes, it is. 5 minutes.

Well.....you still have the step mounting and power. The power harness goes directly to the battery.

I already have the steps on the truck, I just need the Pass-through Harness.

Hello Chuck,

Do the steps activate on all the doors? or just the front doors?

Yes, and the sides are independent. In other words, if driver door or back door on driver side is opened, only the driver side activates. If passenger or passenger rear door is opened, only the passenger side opens. Of course if driver and passenger open doors at the same time, both steps are activated.
