Hmm do you mean 24160? That's a R&P set for the front diff. The front diff regear isn't the problem, it's the rear diff that's different for the K2 (2014+) trucks.

Ok so i have a 2015 cc 5.3l with the 3.08 with g80 locker. If i go to a 3.42 do i need to do anything with the ECU? or the front diff gearing?

Yes... your speedo will be off and you must match gearing for the front axle as well.

I finally went to install my rg&p and it was wrong for the rear.. Ended up buying a tru-trac and getting the correct gears. Should be finished up on monday

If you don't have the money for the regear right now, a custom tune is another option. I have 3.08's and 33's. The truck was terrible and the stock trans tune meant constant short shifting. Got a Blackbear tune and it's a huge improvement. The torque management is probably the biggest killer. A tune isn't a complete solution but it's more than enough to hold me over until I have the spare cash to re-gear.

I am in the same boat, I want to purchase the kit from East Coast Gear, but cannot find an installer that feels competent to install it or they say they wont warrenty/install other peoples parts.

Does anyone know if the Detroit Tru-Trac can be used in the 2014 Silverado 5.3 4x2 9.5" 12-bolt without mods?

I'd like to keep my 3.42 gears and simply swap my existing ring gear along with new bolts and carrier bearings over to this:

Ok..... Just found a shop that did the gear change before..claim to have done a couple of the 14s. Getting the truck back on Friday. Can't wait!! Keep you guys posted on how the it goes

That's what I am wanting to get.

I have found 2 places willing and that I am comfortable with, only problem is they are both 3 hrs + away. So as for the break in process, I can't drive straight home. They recommended 5-10 heat cycling, change at 100 miles and again at 1000. After that normal intervals but no towing for 3k.

Those are bs intervals. Do one change at 500 miles and then you're fine. Wait until 1k miles to tow. I've have yet to have an issue in my 02 and they have 20k miles (really hard miles) on them. Those are 4.88's

Maybe, but I still don't think it's the best idea to get it done and drive straight home 3 hrs 70+ over a mountain pass with some steep grades.
