Nice man. Can't wait to see how it goes. Do you have a 6.2 or 5.3 engine?

Tonight at New England Dragway in Epping I did a pre-blower run with the truck tonight, gotta figure out my dollars per tenth of a second. Only "performance" mod was the cat back. I left everything in the truck including my tools, fire extinguisher, etc just over 1/2 a tank of fuel. I figured the weight of the rolling toneau cover and tools should about cancel out the small hp increase from the cat-back. I launched in 4HI and switched to 2wd before the 1-2 shift. I did a couple runs trying to break torque, but there must be some safety built in because it would just bog and wait then slowly accelerate. Those runs were 14.7xx and 14.6xx. The final run I did no break torquing and just hit the gas after the split second I let off the break. In all three runs I hit the speed limiter, kinda funny a stock truck hits that in the 1/4 mile. The final run us below, I'm car #715 in the left lane.

Beautiful thread. Congratulations on the remission brother! love the way the build is coming out!. i know when we color matched my rear we had to bend up part of the bed on the bottom just to clear the brackets. Nonetheless i cant wait to see how this build progresses.

It's been a busy weekend, I had some college buddies that I hadn't seen in a while back in the area visiting their family so I couldn't pass up seeing them. Despite that and with huge help from my brother I still made lots of progress.

This truck has had en elite E2 catch can on it since the day I got it home from the dealership.. Here is what the intake valves look like after 10,000 miles with at catch can.

A look into the belly of the beast. You can see the little butterfly valve that is the bypass for when you are not in boost

Subtle warning my truck isn't stock. Also I'm not sure what this means, but I now have ford (6.2 Raptor badge) and Mopar( supercharged emblem) on my truck.

The back third bolts that hold the supercharger on are a complete bitch to tighten. A torque wrench did not fit in there and there was just enough room for one click at a time. My brother came up with this great idea to get to those bolts since you were sitting there forever turning them.

Tedah!

I still haven't put the front back together because while I had it apart I finally put in the TRS HID kit. I ran out of zip ties for keeping the wiring night and tidy, so tomorrow's

job will be buttoning up that. I can't thank my brother enough for all the help, definitely had some moments I had to put the tools down and walk away (like dropping the ratchet behind the engine when I was trying to do the back bolts) and he just stepped in and calmly took over lol

Nice build. Something always goes wrong. Halfway through cutting a hole in my camaro hood this winter the damn Allen head bolt holding the blade in the saw was stripped after fighting with it for 45 min we got it going again

How do you like the rear sway bar? Improvement?

Emblem pros makes a custom badge similar to the raptor. Hey can make any color I went gray/black to match the car. I have this on my car

The rear sway bar made a huge difference. In combo with the grabber UHP tires it transformed the truck. I put the rear sway bar on hole 2 of 3 and it got rid of a lot of understeer. My brother has a G8 and we did some informal testing, as long as there is no tight turns or quick transitions in which you can't hide the near 6,000lbs, I can now keep pace with him in the back roads. I came into a corner and nailed the throttle mid corner and was able to controllably drift the rest of the corner(it was damp), it's much more balllanced. Between that and my 14 second 1/4 before the blower he's currently looking at doing some upgrades to his g8 lol.

Preliminary dyno numbers before the smaller pulley are 445hp and 490 lb-ft @ the rear wheels on a mustang dyno. Dyno sheet to follow!

All I can say is holy shit what a difference, this truck pulls hard! It doesn't seam to hit as hard down around 3k as my old truck but it just keeps pulling and does not fall on its face even up past triple digits. I only saw 6psi and 130 iats with 76 ambient on a blast to 90+ so I'm not sure why Don @ slowhawk didn't want to put the smaller pulley on. I'm also not sure why on the dyno the truck falls on its face above 5k, but on the street it's great!

    • I was around and remember that era very well, so I'm calling b/s on that statement. If they were that bad no police department or taxi company would've bought a single one ... but they were used in both services (and fire) for DECADES. They were bulletproof and proven. Even the early 21st century ones weren't too bad! The early models were legendary.   Mine is proof, but people like atlas are blinded by agenda and refuse to believe facts right before their very eyes.   Even decades after they were built, a new generation started driving them, posting all their builds and shenanigans on Grandmarq.net and Crownvic.net. The failures would show up then, since they all were deep past 100k-150k miles by that point, and younger drivers tend to be a little aggressive, especially with vehicles than can lay a one-tire fire for as long as you hold your foot in it. They've more than proven themselves over the decades.   The only thing that'll really take them out is road salt. The bodies and sheet metal were garbage. A victim of the cheapout FoMoCo and GM have been partaking in before then, and since.   Today it's the stuff that counts - the undercarriage that rots away first!    GMs Caprice was no slouch either. Reliable as a stone ax - the opposite of what they build now.
    • Let me know how your vehicles do in 10 years. You don't know ******, kid. 😂    There's a reason that Panther platform was used as police, fire, and taxi service for DECADES ... long before you were born, apparently.
    • If your connector also has a big lever to get the connector on and off, you don't want to force the lever either way, as it becomes a bigger problem if you bust the lever or the mechanism it works.
    • It's just useful to disconnect the battery to prevent odd shorting out when unplugging/plugging stuff together.  I also  touch the two cable ends together (after disonnecting) to drain the small amount of stored battery energy in various modules.   I believe the main system where you need to be more concerned with, so you need to do the above and then wait some time, iss when you are working on the air bag system, to prevent inadvertent firing of the air bags.   The in-cab switches are just that, plain switches, it's generally not a problem to swap them in/out.  For my '12, I'll get an error message on the dash if I power up the truck w them unplugged, but that's it (power up= turn the ignition on).   The ITBC located above the spare tire is a computer that manages the trailer brake system.  That is probably more important to have the battery disconnected.  It does have to be programmed to the truck, either before or after it's installed, for it to work.  For my '12, I had a very hard time reinstalling the main connector to it (IDK if yours is the same or not), it turned out the silicon seal was jamming up, preventing it from going on all the way.  I finally got it fully installed by lubing the seal with a bit of dielectric grease, then it slid on and latched in place easily.
    • JR ! I just got the truck back from the Dealership today . The technician did a cold remote start on the truck this morning and it made the noise . It was determined that it was a starter issue and replaced it under warranty . Of course   it did not make the sound after a new starter was put in because the truck was not cold . We will we see what happens tomorrow morning when I start the truck cold  . Keep tuned !   Oh I found a video on YouTube of a cold start and it did the same thing your truck and mine do , I will see if I can find it and post it up
