Wheel Skin Review

So I had a good month and had $80 to waste and I decided to blow it on chrome wheel skins. I like the design of my 18 inch wheels but wanted them in either black or chrome, not in the brushed aluminum. I thought the wheel skins would like cheesy aftermarket crap, but I was wrong. They look real good, my son thought I purchased new wheels. You can't tell until you get right up on them, looks great. Here are the chrome ones, I have the black ones on order since the chrome ones turned out so well:

Those look pretty darn good. Look like wheels from the pics. I'd say $80 very well spent.

They sure looks good. Ram puts wheel skins on some of their new truck wheels and you can't tell unless you get up and touch them.

 

What is nice about have two different sets - you can change the wheels any time of the year with black to chrome etc..

Here is the link. I also found and ordered gloss black, should be here next week.

My son's friends around 17/18 YO's came over this evening and my son had them believing I had the wheels dipped in chrome. He revealed the truth later on and they could not get over how real it looked. Pretty funny!

Ya know GM has done clad wheels in the past so it makes perfect sense to make a product like this. It also gives you flexibility with em. You can change your wheels for daily driving/offroading and use them as protectors from scratches.

 

I do wonder how they'd do in salt tho. Seems like they'd trap salt behind the caps.

I got the chrome ones for mine and put em on yesterday. I was skeptical too but pleasantly surprised!

Pop out your center cap from the wheel and set it in the center of the wheel skin. It fits perfect.
