What are you using for a gun rack for rifles?

Hello, probably a narrow audience, but what are people using for a run rack Doesn't seem like anything will work in the rear window that I was used to "as a kid". (My Mom actually made fun of me. $55k truck and I was going to hang a gun rack in it?) I do have an under the rear seat storage unit, but it's jammed with other stuff.

Considered the "hanging on the back of the front bucket seats" system, probably will go that route, but wanted to see what others are doing.

Ps - It's turkey hunting season now.

That's what I use. I liked the overhead racks on older trucks, but the roof on these new ones is so thin I'm afraid to mount anything up there.

I have had the one from cabelas in the past as well and really liked it. I could be wrong but depending on what kind of shotgun/rifle you are running I would think the roof mounted one would cause you some OAL issues that the rear seat one would not.

What about handguns (assuming you are a concealed weapons permit carrier)? I'd like to build/buy some type of holster for that little area in the side of the center console (I have the full floor console)

Overall length. Buttstock to muzzle. Sorry. Used to posting on the reloading forum.

I used this in my last truck. Easy to attach and remove without any permanent application. You can attach your own holster that you already use or are comfortable with so all you have is a strap left in place and not an empty holster when you get out of the truck.

I have also seen people just mount a Fobus type holster secured with 3m type tape or drilled into the side of the console.

i mounted a serpa in my last truck...used a QD mount so i could remove gun and holster when i needed to.

I don't have a picture right now, but my S&W .40 cal handgun fits perfect in the slot right near your right knee/thigh in that long "pocket" on the other side of the cup holder/console. (I am a concealed carry owner.)

can anyone using this tell me what they think the minimum OAL of the rifle can be to fit this?

i hunt in thick bush and always run 20" barreled 308s.

right now my bus gun is a Tikka T3 compact with a full size stock extender and a recoil pad thats only slightly thicker than OEM.. its only 2.5" shorter OAL than the regular t3.

My handgun fits sweet in the pocket.
