Stabilitrac Issue from lift or tires

Dealer redid my alignment and I told them stabilitrack was coming on in wide left turns and they did something to the sensors said reset them which they said they did before but this time it seems to have worked.

Well that is better news. Let us know if it stays "fixed".

Well the stabilitrack is back came on once last night and twice today and still left turns but one turn was just a slight left turn. I thought it was only full 90 degree turns before. It is far less then it was before but still irritating.

Did you check or have anyone check to see if the wires to the sensors were pinched or compromised in any way? Maybe ask them about a bad sensor? Based on the posts I have read, I haven't heard too many others having this issue. Good luck with the solution. Keep us posted. I haven't pulled the trigger on my lift yet, as I don't need the stress that you have run into, for sure.

I've got the 6" BDS lift kit with coilovers, rear leaf springs and 35x13.5r20 tires on 20" wheels with -24 offset. The only time I have an issue with Stabilitrack is when I am going a little to fast in corners/sharp turns. For me about 20-25 mph is the sweet spot in most turns, 90 degree turns are of course a lot slow speed. Just slow it down guys and you'll be fine.

I would turn the wheels to full lock on that side and look up under the truck. I can almost bet there is something wrong with the wire(s) or that sensor from the lift install.

Last week when I talked to BDS they admitted they are having people call with the stabilitrack issues. They do not know why in the last couple months the issue has come up they said their where no issues before. I was the 1st to call with a 2014 having the issue. They told me people with 2015s have been having issues and they figured gm changed the programing on stabilitrack. I I heard today from another member on here with same issue BDS told them today they are redesigning the knuckles and hope to have it out in a month. I also noticed the people with the issue I believe all have the 6.2 motor I don't know if its coincidence or maybe somehow has something to do with it.

Good info to know. I hope you get it fixed soon. I can't imagine engine size has anything to do with it unless it was just the program used for the 6.2L. I wanted the 6.2, but the truck I have has the 5.3L which was still an upgrade from my 2005 5.3L. I figured that the boost I saw between trucks I will give back due to the 35 inch tires and it will feel like driving my old truck performance wise. If its more than that, I will have to reconsider gear swap.

Is anyone with other lifts than BDS having stabilitrac issues?

I have a custom 3" kit. I have the issue too. Nothing to do with abs wiring or anything like that. Also nothing to do with tire size conversion as I have HP tuners and my speed is 100% GPS corrected. I've tried doing a steering angel sensor and yaw sensor calibration and yaw sensor calibration with no luck.

K2jer,

Is your truck a 6.2L like Payton's?

I have a 2015 5.3 truck with a rough country 2.5" level and mine was fine for over 1k miles right up until I got it aligned. I'm still on stock tires for now.

I work for a dealer so I'll have one of the tech's take a look at it when they get a chance. The tech I had align it thinks that I nicked a wire while installing the lift and corrosion is setting in. Even if that's the case, I'll be able to find out with our scanner when I can get around to it. I don't care what the fix is, I just want everything to work as it should.

I plan to get to the bottom of this.

OK, keep us posted if you find something. Would like to have clear solution on this for sure.

I am guessing GM must have change Stablitrack programing because people are have issues only in the last few months. BDS said there were no complaints since their lift was released over a year ago until just a couple months ago and until I complained it was all on 2015 trucks. Mine was reflashed at the dealer a few weeks before my lift went on. I read on another forum a GM tech commented that dealer techs are seeing Stabilitrack issues on the leveled and lifted trucks that dealers sell from the conversion companies. GM isn't going to do anything for it since the trucks are not stock.
