Any pics further away to see the light output all the way across from a distance?

Hrmmmm...I like the evenly distributed light as opposed to 2 pods that I have.

here we go, I finally found them after snooping through Texas Husker's posts haha, the lights aren't a perfect match, but they are close enough for my OCD to not freak out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/

First one doesn't accurately depict the color, but the others do. These are VERY white. Match the other LEDs on these trucks well

Did you wire them into the power and ground wires that came built into the harness? You said you cut a 16' strip in half, so did you only use a 1 power and ground on each side of the truck leaving the other 2 unused?

You are correct sir. Only one on each side is used, the other 2 (one per side) have a wire nut and waterproofing tape from xkglow (came with my footwell pods actually haha) to keep them in good condition should I ever decide or need to change to something else and have to use them.

I originally had plans to get a set of 10 XK pods and put 5 per side (only so that there would be more light more evenly distributed) but then I found the strip on eBay (thanks to TexasHusker) and had to give it a try for $8

And they match the XKGlow pods exactly? 'Bout time you updated that sig pic. Lol

Mike - Any chance that you have any more detail on the specific strips you ordered from eBay? Specifically:

 

- Color: It seems like the same manufacturer keeps popping up - but they don't provide K ratings for the color of their lights. They only provide their subjective terms "daylight white", "cool white", etc.

- Water Resistance Level (IP rating) - This manufacturer offers indoor, IP65, and IP66 water resistance levels. I am focusing on IP66 water resistance, because I can see an awful lot of water getting splashed up on these strips at pretty high pressure from the front tires.

I can't find the listing on eBay for the lights at the moment. I'll get on my laptop and look through some old posts and convos as I know I've posted it before and PM'd it to some. I want to say these lights are IP66 or IP67. As for color specs, I don't have any. They were listed just the same as most cheap LED strips on eBay are, "daylight white" "cool white" or "natural white" which I think these were natural. Edited by Mike1220

I followed your lead on the xkglow pods and you say these lights match those pods in color good? If so, one you figure out what lights they are, I'll order them. I want to do this for my regular side bars, can anyone provide insight on how to wire an LED strip to shine when the doors are opened and/or when the unlock button is hit

      What meaningful corrections were done to fix the "machining errors?"   I bet nothing, because the 6.2 is soon to be obsolete. Why would GM implement any fix let alone an "expensive one?"   Until someone can provide any convincing information that GM did ANYTHING to correct the engines - the 6.2 is no for me.    Which means keeping the 2016 Denali longer until the next generation (6.6?) proves itself.

      If my father took a Sunday off. We did the Sunday drive. Usually stopping at a Geno’s for dinner that we eat in the car. Six of us with my little sister up front. It was always a Buick growing up. In New Jersey you couldn’t get lost. Not like Texas.

      I suppose I am Atlas. It can always be worse, eh?   I had a friend once that rolled one payment into another until he was paying the price of Benz for a 10 year old back marker. Wouldn't be often you start a new payment the month following your old one.

      I still enjoy the drive   Some people fish when they retire; some golf. I drive. We've lived in the same general area now for twenty eight years and I'm still finding at least monthly some sweet quite little road to explore. When I tell the Mrs. I'm heading out for coffee she knows that could be a five hour event. Often she even goes along.    I like finding new rural routes used mainly by the locals that start nowhere in particular and end the same way. Many in the area of that type are narrow paved and twisty, hilly and run through field and timber. Often along creeks or wetlands. Unfarmable areas of great natural beauty.    After years of this type of exploration they start to fit together. One ending a mile or so from another and you start threading together a new path from a unfamiliar place to a new adventure. Sometimes to a little town of under five hundred that used to be something before the Interstate or some railroad or US highway bled the life out of it that has a small dinner with the greatest slice of pie you've eaten since grandma made her last. A little village museum or library or even a town square park with grand old oak, walnut and Osage orange trees to sit under while you sip you gas station coffee and chat up some locals.    Often they are full of stories about the main streets more interesting buildings and the who's who of the area. Sometimes some hidden attraction or unseen history. Our area is full of old coal mines.     A younger self used to do this going cross country by motorcycle. Only a general area as a destination with no time to get there and no time to be back. Sitting at days end in a 10 unit off the main highway motel under a Sycamore tree yacking with the owner or his one semipermanent guest while I adjusted valves or the chain. Always a wave and a shout "Hey there stranger"!  It's how I came by my love of old Brit iron. There is no such things as a ten minute gas stop when your on a Enfield or a vintage Triumph. Same being true of old cars.    If you take the time to really look I've found everywhere is someplace interesting. Illinois or West Virginia. Different and yet the same.    People are in a more relaxed mood and will talk about anything and everything and if they like you there may be a cupp'a or a lemonade and a sandwich in it. 😉
