My old trucks I would just get a copy made and being regular keys it would be a flat key and I kept the key in my wallet. Can't do that with the key to my '14, but never tried taking my extra key and taking the plastic off to see if it's flat.

This is exactly what I do now so I always have an extra key.

I'd rather not pay $300/year, and have to pay $65 once for a broken window. I drove to the window shop and had it replace in less than an hour.

On-Star is an entitled service that Chevrolet/GM needs to take a very serious look at.

It's still more to OnStar than unlocking your door. Again it's for emergency use if you get into a wreck and get knocked out, or if you witness a wreck you can push the button. Also it helps if your vehicle get stolen.

I know 300/year sounds like a lot which it could be a lot better. It still is worth to have and $25 a month isn't a bad price when you look at it that way.

I'm not here to argue, and I'm glad you're happy with the service.

I have Waze that gets me where I need to go, I have roadside assistance through GM, my insurance company and now Bass Pro Shops since i bought my boat there.

I think their approach at selling the service is horribly lacking and their complete disregard for my issues with the service has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I'd rather pocket the $300/year on the off chance that I *might* have to pay for a busted window once.
