There was another thread about the Titan when it was revealed. At the time, didn't think it looked too bad.

But these photos...the only thing that may save it are Cummins fans.

A joke, really? Have you owned one?

A lot of the guys at work have been going with the Tundra. Dumping their Rams & F150's for them. I haven't owned one but did drive a few because they guys speak highly of them and brag about how much better they are than their former trucks.

I did like the power, and they all seem pretty quick with the 5.7L engine. Looking under the trucks, they all had good Bilstein 4600's from factory, appear to have a two piece drive shaft for some reason. They sit pretty high, much higher than GM. The ones I drove were geared low, 4.55 I think is what they had, and they drove smoother than the GM trucks with OEM suspension. The 4x4 system seemed to work well and handled deep snow without issue. They are very roomy and comfortable. It's basically a Sequoia without the third seat and roof.

Now the good stuff...... I do not like the interior design at all, of any trim level.

I do not care for, nor do I need the giant cab, I think they are the ugliest truck on the market for sure. Did I say the interior was a terrible design?? I would not own one but to say they are junk is ridiculous. They drive just fine and have enough power to do whatever you would want to do with a 1/2ton pickup.

I had a Tacoma in the past. The way some people think if Toyota ownership as some magical, trouble-free experience is bogus. I had more non-maintenance visits in that turd in two years than I did in 4 with my Silverado.

Pretty much. Constant front end noise, windows rattled when partially down and the remotes lost programming and I had to pay to get them working while it was still under warranty. Thin, weak metal, tailgates broke on older ones and terrible paint. Never again.

Sucks that you had a terrible experience. I had one like that with a Jeep Grand Cherokee after the redesign in 1999, it was horrible, never again! No Chrysler anything for me.

We'll see how that new Tacoma works out. They seem to be pretty proud of it and those Tacoma guys are really hammering away at the Colorado and Canyon. I hope it fails miserably just because of the Tacoma guys slamming the new GM's in it's class.

The Tundra may be an older design, you right about that, no doubt. I just seemed to like the power compared to the stock 5.3L.

The new Tacoma is barely changed! Haha. The only reason it sells is people are brainwashed into thinking it's the best small truck. Pretty sure I read it even still uses drum brakes out back.

I checked out a new mid-hi level Tundra last week. It seemed kind of bland on the inside. The motor is outdated, takes up a lot of room, and still has a clutch fan. Also, the rear axle is a welded rather than cast & pressed design. The interior is ok, but everything is in funny places. I did get the appliance feel from it. It doesn't seem like a "new" pickup.

But, the dealer had a mint Supra, nice enough that they had it inside. Cool little (slow) car.

The Toyota UA stuff is complete BS. If a car should have the throttle stick, the brakes WILL bring it to a halt, period. Audi proved this when the 5000 has those UA claims in the 80s. Jeep proved it in the 90s when the Grand Cherokee had the same claims. And Toyota proved it when this mess started. I may not be a fan of their products but the beating Toyota took over that was absurd, same as Chrysler now being faced with giant fines. It's just abuse of power by the feds.
