only one tint shop in my area and apparently they know they've got you by the you know what. Nice to live in small towns sometimes and sometimes not.

I paid $170 for 5% on my front and 5% Over my rear Windows. That's 170 for 5 Windows, nothing on windshield

So is that not what the numbers represent, 20% tint means 20% of light gets thru? Cuz stock was 70% and hell those things had no tint what,so ever lol

This is what the window says on mine

Back window - 2h4z5t1.jpg

YEp, I'm either an idiot, or my memory is starting to fade. I got the 70% number right, but the window wrong. It says 20% on the the back door windows and the rear window.

What did you do on the front windows? Were your rear windows factory tinted?

Rear were factory tinted. Front are 20%.

If the front side windows are 70% from the factory and you put 20% film tint on top of that, won't you get less than 20%? 0.7 x 0.2 is 14% which would be less then the rear window 20% from the factory. I suppose a 6% difference isn't enough to really notice.

In my state, tint is limited to 25%- has to allow at least 25% of the light through on all side windows. And, the installer has to put a sticker in between the window and the tint on the driver's window stating the tint is in compliance. The costs around here (Little Rock, AR) have ranged from $70 to $120 for the front two windows.

Legal Limit in MN is 50%. I don't even see a point in tinting at that level.

I did 20% in the front and back. The back was already tinted so with 20% on the back the installer said it would being it down to about 5-10%. I like it a lot. Matches perfectly. Factory tint usually doesnt have any UV protection.

Although my last car i never messed with the tint, i think it was like 35 back and 40ish front, the uneven tone bothers me. I guess its really only a problem when its noticeable .. for example how stock was 20% back and 70% front geez
