How Often Do You Wash Your Truck?

Ive owned my truck for almost 2 months now, and I think Ive washed it about 6 or 7 times now. My fiance was given me crap about the water bill and what not (jokingly).

 

But made me think how often I actually was washing it. At first I think it was once a week but then that changed to every other.

 

 

 

How often do you guys wash your truck? What products do you use (Which soap, rag, wax, etc)?

Not as often as I'd like! We use Mothers products & Microfiber cloths for drying/polishing.

I wash it when I get time which is not very often, once or twice a month. I enjoy my motorcycles more than my truck and if it is a nice day to wash my truck then it is a better day to be on two wheels. I have also owned 3 black vehicles for nearly 20 years and have learned they look great washed but that doesn't last long plus everytime you wash it, no matter how careful you are, you are going to put more scratches on it.

sounds like my brother with new 77 F150. Just one time poured soap it and rain washed it off. The blue paint turned to chalk and flaked off hood and roof.

Do the daily rain storms we get here in Florida count as washing? If not then it's been 2+ years?

Maybe once a month if it's real dirty. If it's too hot or too cold, it won't be done then, either!

I probably wash mine once every two weeks. With once being hand wash other times a quick run through the local touch less car wash.

My SUV, black once a wk by hand. Wife's car gold, once a month at the dealer free. My toys when dirty by hand.

I am currently at once a week inside and out by hand. But mine is still rather new. I am sure it will fade off and much more random.

 

On a side note, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist Speed Wax is the best spray and wipe I have found. I simply spray a little as I go and wipe off with a microfiber. Multiple times people have asked my how often I polish my trunk, it is that nice.

at least once a week. sometimes twice. i am ocd. i have been like that with every vehicle i have owned new or old for the last 17 years. before that i didn't have a car but our family had 4 vehicles and they were all washed every saturday. even if they weren't dirty. grew up in a military family and it was just how things were. our van only got used for trips and it got washed every saturday. i think it got more miles pulling in and out of the garage every weekend!!

With me it all depends... 2 times a week on average. Foam cannon makes washing my cars so fun. I like how the neighbors come out side and watch...lol and even the cars that pass by go real slow and some even take pictures.. I highly recommend the foam cannon from chemical guys with there gloss works shampoo!!!! That pic was after 5 minutes of letting it sit.
