White Diamond Tricoat being dropped?

I can not confirm but I was told this morning by a buddy who was debated between getting a 2015 or waiting for a 2016. That was until he heard that the white diamond tricoat is no longer going to be a option on the Silverado (and I assumed also the Sierra). The dealer he was at said they're not sure if it's going back to an option package like it was in pre-2013, if they're only going to offer it on certain trucks, or if GM is dropping it all together for the truck lineup. If this is the case - guess I'm running mine until the doors fall off.

They're deleting the White Diamond, but adding (G1W) White Frost Tricoat. I'm thinking it will be more white with metal flake (similar to Toyota's Blizzard Pearl Metallic) and less of an off-white/cream color.

White Diamond gets replaced my White Frost Tricoat (GMC)/ Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (Chevy) and is a MUCH better color IMO than White Diamond. White Diamond got old fast.

WDT had a good following. The color seemed like it was the same or very similar to an old Cadillac color going back a dozen or more years ago. It wasn't for me, but many like it a lot.

I love my WDT but am absolutely dreading my first scratch or chip.

Glad I got mine in WDT. My trucks a daily and while I love black, it's not optimal for a daily imo, and I've owned a silver one which was great, and a normal white one which was cool too, but WDT is the perfect combo of class & low maintenance imo. Even when it's dirty it looks clean haha.

 

Edit* wouldn't mind changing my wdt for that Crimson red tintcoat though. Always wanted a deep red truck!
