Aged Inventory Incentives?

Recommended Posts

So I've been driving through lots, kicking around the idea of pulling the trigger on a '15 GMC CC Denali. I've noticed that there's some trucks that have *much* higher mark downs than others (to the point that they're over $1K-$2K under invoice), and from what I can tell, it's the oldest stock. I'm aware of the advertised $3,500 in consumer cash / bonus cash, but there must be more incentives available outside of that.

Does anyone know what hidden incentives are on old stock (aged inventory)?

I'm trying to make sure that I've completely educated before taking the plunge.

Thanks!

Im interested in this as well, my dealer I called about a Denali online told me he just lowered the price of the one I was looking at and its pretty much as low as he can go. I noticed the pictures online had dates on them from a digital camera of almost a year ago...so that truck has been sitting on their lot a whole year! Surely they would come off it more but I havent gone in for the test drive yet so I dont know. Would love to know ahead of time because hes like 50 miles away.

3 weeks ago I went to buy a 2015 Silverado LT C/C 4x4 that was marked-down by about $8k. The salesman (same one I ALWAYS go to) told me they had 2 leftover 2014s! Long story short, I bought a much nicer 2014 Crew Cab LTZ Z-71 2LZ Silverado for $40,400--when the sticker price was originally $52,300--and they even threw-in the window vent visors and sprayed-in bed liner too! So I'd say there IS some incentive to get a 2014 if possible. They have to want those things gone, with the 2016s on the way!

I've only looked at 2015s, but my experience has been that there's one or two that have deep discounts, and if I ask about another truck with a different color or a different option, the discounts won't always apply. They're all 5SA (Denali) trim. The differences have been things like color. The only common denominator that I've noticed is older VINs on units with the discounts. I haven't seen any 2014s on the dealer lots around here, but would assume they'd have at least the same discount or more than the aged 2015s..

It isn't a Denali or HC but I just got a '15 LT CC with Bose and 20" rims. MSRP $48,000 and paid $35,500 with accessories before taxes and trade. It was on the lot less than 45 days when I bought it, certainly not old inventory. A motivated dealer will deal on any truck on the lot.

I went in Aug 31 to buy one at the end of the month, and found the one I wanted (4x4 sierra SLT all-terrain) sticker-ed at ~54.5K. the best they could do was ~47K. But the finance manager, said "come back tomorrow, because it the 1st, and I will place the one you want on the incentive list", then I go in the next day and get 20% off, and paid ~43.6. Got about ~11K, in just 1 day, because the finance manager gave me this info. Not sure what current incentives are.

but remember, they say "longest on the lot" but they can choose the ones they want to tag for the incentives. In other words, tag it, or I go somewhere else. And they did!!!

Hope this helps.

DW where are you looking? I think maybe it depends on a regional thing also based on amount of inventory on hand. Some dealers around here are getting pretty lean on their 15's especially the denalis so they may not have a lot of incentive to push one out the door if they only have one or two left.

When I bought mine I went out of town to buy looking for the best deal. The dealer told me he had 6 and could put the one I wanted on that list. It did have a March build date but they CAN put that incentive on whatever truck they want. Knowledge is power and will use this knowledge next time I'm in the market.

July 31 I picked up a 2015 crew 4x4 Z71, White diamond, LT2, Leather, running boards, bed liner, ect. Stickered $50,200 and paid $35,200.

Huh????

$15,000 off a 2015? Is that including your trade? I've NEVER heard of a discount that deep before. Especially since white diamond is an extra $1k alone...

Priced a '15 CC LTZ Z71 last week with about everything short of the moonroof and the rear entertainment package from what I could see, had been on the lot for over 200 days, they got it down to $38,500. I told them I wouldn't even negotiate a price over $40k, was surprised they went that low.

What was MSRP on that?

    • WTI futures / speculation is just that. WTI futures <> current 4-7% inflation and national average gas price over $4.00/gallon.   The spot price, at delivery, is currently $87-$95/barrel which is why gas prices remain high.   Edit: oH mY gOd mEnTaL BrEaKdoWn In tHE pOsT aBOve mInE. • He does, actually. In another unrelated video he mentions the president called him in the middle of the night to relay some information on a cause (religious based) that he's invested in. Glenn expressed concern that another leftist administration could wield too much power with some procedure the Pentagon was using, classifying certain religions a certain way. Being that he is LDS (Latter Day Saints), he gets hate all the time from ALL over the political spectrum, so he's invested in this. Trump called him back at 5AM to tell him he had made some changes to that classification.   So, yes, they are and have been in contact regularly since the start of the administration. Glenn, of course, always asks his permission before discussing anything on the air.   I already spent an hour or more just searching for these videos. I may have my numbers wrong - I'm not a numbers guy. It may have been a MILLION barrels, not 1.5. The point is, our President, by his actions, gives a crap about America, and US - this is completely OPPOSITE the actions of the prior administration who projected hatred for anyone who wasn't following the left's edicts in lock-step.   Remember, they called January 6th an "Insurrection", when there were ZERO weapons among the crowd, undercover FBI agents agitating the crowd, along with paid leftists acting as aggressors, egging the crowd on in an attempt to whip everyone into a frenzy. It's all been proven.  Pelosi refused Trumps request for more National Guard troops. This smells 100% like an inside job for those with critical thinking skills. Only a handful of guys in the crowd got wrapped up in that, thankfully, but EVERYONE was searched out based on cell phone data, and charges were brought against many. And 6 or so people were locked up and left in solitary confinement for YEARS with ZERO due process!! If you give the slightest crap about our Nation, REGARDLESS of your political leanings, this should frighten you to your core. This is what men suffered, bled, fought, and died against 250 years ago!   This has gone FAR BEYOND left vs. right. This is a  threat to America, and our way of life. This is PRECISELY why Trump, a BILLIONAIRE who could have chosen to take Melania and sit on some tropical island that he could afford to buy himself and RELAX, instead chose to run for office, get hate from literally every corner of the media, get ATTEMPTS on his LIFE constantly, and begin to repair some of the severe damage that's been done to this Great Nation.   I don't know why I bother wasting my precious time here. Everyone has their minds made up. They won't realize we all were correct until it's too late ... after they elect another tyrant that hates America to office (Obama), or another puppet whose administration is secretly running the show behind the scenes (Biden).
    • Hello, Im in a bit of a bind maybe someone could help me out.  We towed our trailer, up a pretty steep incline (395 north of Bishop) done it before no issues. I got to our campground turn truck off, i restarted the truck about an hour later  and check engine light turns on. Found DTC P2C48,  unable to reset.  This morning i removed the plug, there's 12.12v at the plug. Reservoir near firewall is full of coolant, checked for leaks nothing. I dont hear or feel the pump turning on. My dilemma, is nearest dealer  is 4hrs away that has the pump instock. Is it safe to drive? By me checking the available voltage at the connector and not hearing/feeling pump turn on, is it a bad pump? Please help...
    • The figure bandied about is "100 million barrels" so I think a decimal is off somewhere. But that doesn't change the outcome much when the expected flow through the Strait through over the same time should have been more than 2,000,000,000.   So 5%, if that number is even true, and there's sufficient data to believe it's not. Give that man another Fifa peace prize! 5% is less than the flow of a grapefruit-sized prostate blocking the release of cheap lager after a night of bingo.
