Anybody got the part number for the tailgate cap / protector for the 2015 Silverado?

It's the piece on top of the tailgate not the liner.

I believe this is the part you are looking for. Check both diagrams it shows #15 is the Cap

yes, tree branch fell on the tail gate. The only damage was to the cap.

Wow that was good luck wrapped in bad luck I guess.

Around here tree branches have been falling regularly due not getting enough water because of our drought watering restrictions, so I think twice now about parking under that shady tree.
