And update for the better? Clunk be gone?

Well I went in the other day for a complimentary oil change and found out I have a software update recall? Haha it was for the 4 wheel drive apperently staying on in cold temperature. So they gave my truck the update and I have noticed since this update it's shifting has seemed to improve lots when I go from Park to drive it does not seem to drop into gear harder and even just driving everything seems much smoother and better operating. I'm not sure what this update they gave me consisted of or what it really changed but might be something to check out for guys.

My truck is a 2015 gmc sierra all terrain 5.3 to 6 speed auto

But figured I'd share my experience after driving it for a few days now after the update it just feels better I don't know how to describe it

I got the same recall/software update when I went in for some work and I agree with you. Seems to shift better since that. While I was there they fixed that, I had an oil pan leaking and the dreaded seat clunk. They fixed all of those items but I still have a clicking sound when I turn the wheel that they could not replicate while they had it for 2 days but......

I just did a 500km trip and it performs much nicer no hesitation in my shifts and just overall seemed less sluggish

I have a 2014 Sierra SLT 5.3 and they just told me about it when I went in for an oil change.

Is this a recall or Service bulletin Is so what is the bulletin number.

As I have the switch issues with it getting stuck in Auto when it's cold out.

They called it a recall when I was there. I called to ask a question about a different issue and the girl said " oh you also have a recall on this truck that we will take care of at the same time"

I just called the dealer, truck made in Feb of 2015 and there is a Software Update for it. The recall does not show up on my (Manage My Brand Chevrolet website page where I have entered all of the info into the data bank.

Just had the same preformed to my truck. My dealer called it a recall but I think it is a bulletin they said they have seen first hand what can happen if this is not done so they just want to prevent it my advisor told me. My truck drives like a whole different truck now no more searching for gears more power when you start out don't have to push the gas as much. Much better shifting I am so glad that they brought it to my attention and did this for me.
