We don't really know what exactly they update when they do the re-flash. We just have to take their word for it. Unless you are a program Guru and can evaluate the changes that have been made. :happysad:

So I just called my local dealership. They called 15304 a recall and said my truck doesn't need it per the Vin. It has all the symptoms of what is described here. Anyone else ran into the dealership not calling it up. My truck is a 15 ltz z71.

Had the update done today. Drove around for a while and it seems like its helped. I took a log file and scanned the tunes and sent them over to Blackbear performance for his review.

I had this done on my truck yesterday while it was in the shop for it's first pm at 3145 miles (10/14 build date ).

I read this thread before taking it in. I was allowed to be in the shop and watch the tech do all the work which was great. I can't say it's a night and day difference and I've only driven it a few miles since it was done. However, unless it's my imagination or because i want it to feel better because i read this thread first, the shifts do seem smoother and with less hunting or ackwardness that there was before. My recall was the same number as mentioned prior.

They also gave me a copy of the technical instructions the tech used for the install. It's for transfer case motor only, yet there were two software updates installed the ro says "corrected by 0090, 9090" and i heard the tech mention to another "i have one more to install"

The tech document they gave me states this is to address the cold weather transfer case brake motor assembly issue that can lock the case in 4 hi in cold ambient temps. HOWEVER it also says "This software update also addresses other transfer case control issues for overall improved drivability."

It's for vehicles with 4 wd transfer cases.

Per the document;

14-15 silverado

14-15 sierra

15 Cadillac escalade

15 suburban, tahoe

15 canyon, yukon, yukon xl

It also says good only until the base warranty on the vehicle expires so if you're close on that, get it in.

I can't figure out why this is not a recall and just a bulletin. A truck that locks in 4wd because of crappy computer tuning in a truck that is out of warranty is kind of crazy. I know there are very few trucks on here out of their 5/100k powertrain warranty but still.

This sounds like a promising update to those unhappy with the way the truck drives. Can any of the GM reps chime in and clarify this for us?

I have a 2014 5.3 and had this recall completed last week. I too have noticed better shifting in my truck since.0d77ed5d1b8dd04fb1507e3b851e649b.jpg

Brought mine in for service on 09October2015. I have a 2015 Sierra 1500 4x4, All they did was the N150203 Brake Line bolt inspection... No software updates mentioned....

According to the tech document, yours is eligible. Take it back and ask them to perform the recall. Show them this thread
