Had this done on my 2014 GMC... honestly can't tell much difference. If anything the throttle seems a bit more responsive.

As others have said, the difference is not night and day, but is noticeable. You can't expect miracles from an update that was done on the TCCM and not the trans itself. The fact that it has improved low speed drivability is a blessing to me, as honestly I don't feel the need for a tune anymore. As others have said, its still not 100%, but is greatly improved over what it was before. At least in my case, the trans does not seem so "confused" like it did pre-update at lower speeds and the throttle does seem to have less lag. Time will tell, but after a week of driving there is a noticeable improvement, at least on my truck.

Is this update needed on a truck that was manufactured 2/15?

Give your dealer a call and he can find out. I ran my vin on the GM page and it did NOT show any recalls... but my dealer ran my vin and said yes it was for my truck.

My build date was 2/15 and they just did mine last week.

Just had mine done this morning. Seems to shift smoother, or it's all in my head because I hang out on forums and believe everything I read. :dunno:

Probably a bit of both [emoji12]

I called the dealer and they said my vehicle didn't require it. Did it help you at all Zert100?

GSBowtie, you mentioned the tech document... where is that? Can't seem to find it... Not sure if my Build date of Feb.2015 is on there...

Call a different dealer. Mine was built 3/2015 and it needed it.

It didn't help at all for my low speed decel Clunk. That was my biggest concern. I was really hoping that it would help with that. To be honest I really can't understand how the transfer case could have that much control over the drivability of these trucks when set to 2 hi. Some here seem to have really benefitted from this update though. Go figure!?!

Maybe a tune would help?

I believe because the dealer knows in a former tech they gave me the actual tech install procedure document the tech used to install the updates. It does not get into that much detial about which trucks are eligible, but did say 14-15 silverado and sierra

Had my recall done yesterday. I have to say, I don't really notice much of a difference. However, I really haven't had any issues since the first 2500 miles (I'm over 11K now). If anything, seems like the slow rolling corners might pick or hold a gear better, but other than that....seem the same.

Is it possible GM isn't disclosing the whole recall or bulletin and fixing things everybody was complaining about. I had mine done last week and didn't notice is clunking as bad, but didn't think much about it till this post. Would it be easier to just make these fixes and not advertise it, in order to save face?
