Steering wheel is not centered

I've always felt like the steering wheel was a tad more to the right than the left myself... I must be the odd one out. It feels like when I center my head with the headrest, the steering wheel is slightly off-right. Also, when driving, I can rest my arm on my center console (jumpseat) and my right arm be closer to the wheel than when I rest my arm on the door armrest with my left arm.

Mine's off about a half inch to the left after the 3-inch lift on 2019 Silverado rst  so this can be fixed the dealer told me it could not be adjusted anymore that it was maxed out

^mine was like that when I bought it, dealer fixed it and with with my recent tire rotation / oil change they re adjusted it without me even having to ask. Perfectly centered. To be fair tho darn near every vehicle I’ve purchased has been off to some degree and sometimes they just shrug and say sorry. This Chevy dealer has been better than most about it.

It's a separate job because it DOESN'T tie into an alignment is what I'm saying. When you request an "alignment" they're going to check your wheels, not your steering wheel. You'd have to ask them to check the alignment as well as center your steering wheel. At least that's what I've run into in the past anyway.

I would totally disagree with this statement. Part of any alignment is to make sure the steering wheel is centered. This is the number 1 complaint when people get a wheel alignment done. If you get your vehicle back and the wheel isn't centered the alignment guy was being lazy. This also plays into the anti skid systems on pretty much any newer vehicle, If the steering wheel is not centered the computer thinks your turning but your not. I would take the truck back and get it fixed.

I put a 2 in level with 295/60/20 on my 2019 LT and now the steering wheel is a little off center to the right.  The steering wheel was perfectly centered when I bought it.  I had the alignment and leveling done at a local shop which has good reviews.  The guy at the shop really tried but couldn't get it perfectly centered.  We tried four different times and three of the times we went on test drives together and kept adjusting it each time.  I'm tempted to take it to the dealership and try to center the wheel but I don't know what else the dealership could do... Truck looks good and drive straight but the slightly off center steering wheel is annoying.  This is the kind of stuff that makes me not want to do anything to my truck but it's so hard to leave it stock and it looks much better with the level and larger tires.  it does make me feel a little better knowing other people have the same issue and it's not just me.

I used to do alignments when I was at a dealer (Benz), its a very easy fix, but its even easier to prevent.

When you put the car on the rack, you put a level on the steering wheel and LOCK the wheel in place.

Most roads here in Texas have a crown for water run off, so you set the bubble slightly to one side (I can't recall which side, its been about 12 years since I did my last alignment)

But note, depending on the crown of the road, the slight tilt in your steering wheel can be different.

Anyhow, so after you do your test drive and if the wheel looks slightly off, you put the car back on the rack and depending on which way the wheel was angled towards, you would loosen your tie rod ends and pull one side in a little, like a 1/4 turn and do the opposite for the other side. the key is to make sure what ever you do to one side, you do the EXACT same to the other as far as turns in the thread on the tie rod end and make sure to lock it all back down. Once you do a few hundred its real easy to gauge how much to adjust for how far off the wheel is angled if any.

I've seen your dime a dozen shops not even lock the steering wheel, much less put a level on it, thats just asking for issues.

I just replaced my tire rods and gave it to a shop to align.  I told the service writer if the tech can't get the emblem straight on steering wheel don't even bother with the alignment.  15 minutes later it rolled around and the Master Tech was done.  It's absolutely perfect.  Wish I always got the Master Tech?
