so I had some stereo work done today...pre work I had 60 presets set, now I can only get 30 back? I set it back to 60 presets in the settings and there are 60 preset boxes showing but it won't let me set anymore than 30? any ideas?

Really?

not kidding! so frustrating.

but then I think back to my childhood days when my parents had 5 push button presets and we thought that was the best. how times have change. I guess I could live with 30 presets if I had too.

I have a much worse problem than that, my presets just disappear on their own! It has happened twice now so I am going to have the dealership look at it when I get the transfer case update done but I doubt they will know how to fix it.

As in erased, or just off the screen?

(they are supposed to 'hide', and you can adjust the number of rows that are displayed)

so it gets more weird...it's on the XM stations I can't add to favorites?

I can add 60 radio stations, but no XM? it's really not a big deal, it's just annoying the $hit out of me!

2015 manual says 25. Any mix of stations and am/fm/xm, in any order.

I've got a jumbled mix of the xm/fm on mine. I use a different favourites 'bar' for different locations where the truck commonly travels.

From the 2015 OM:
"Up to 25 preset stations from all
bands can be stored in the favorite
lists in any order. Up to five stations
can be stored in each favorite page
and the number of favorites can

be set."

Thats strange. I have seen these systems do some weird things only never to repeat. You might wanna' try disconnecting your battery and reset everything. Also try to store a phone number or album off a S/D card or a single song or something, it might just be a problem with XM. On my second 2014 I actually had video in motion for a while and then, just as fast as it started it just stopped. :dunno: Good luck.

Yes, erased and not hidden. It happened the first time about a month ago and I started a thread on it. I was driving down the road and went to change stations and low and behold there were now only 5 of them and they were empty (just numbered 1-5). I was pissed because I had over 30 XM and FM stations saved in the order I wanted them in. I saved about 20 stations a few days later and two days ago it happened again, everything erased and just 5 empty presets on the screen. Things like this is what makes me wonder why I got rid of perfectly good (yet rusting) 2002 silverado for a 2014. Oh well, things could always be worse.

I agree but not really sure what is causing it and I am sure the dealer won't be able to fix it. I need to get the FM reception fixed and I am patiently waiting for that fix to come out. If it clears the presets after the radio update then I will have to let the dealer try and figure it out before my warranty runs out.

my situation is different in that I can set 60 FM presets but no XM at all...I thought at first my free trial was over but I still get all the XM stations...just can't preset them! :bs:

You don't say what work you had done but if it involved an update they may have intro'd a software conflict. Happened to me and the longer I used my phone, radio and iPod the worse it got. Removed my Nav presets even after I put them back. Too many issues to detail but it just kept getting worse. GM addresses this potential for software conflicts in the instructions for some updates. i.e.,if vehicle is running version XXX don't update to version XXX or software conflicts will occur. There have been numerous updates and patches as well as hardware changes so lots of potential for issues. Dealer did a Global Reset to mine and that helped a bunch but I'm still having issues.

I'm curious how it gets 60. How are they organized?

Every one I've looked at the max number of stations is 25. 5 rows of 5 each.

Yes This

My 2015 25 HD SLT gets a voltage surge from the snow plow in USE ONLY ... (soon to be fixed by GM) and it shorts out my Nav / XM ... Climate Control on every plow position change.

And then on the Nav / Radio there is NO pre-selected presets shown - just the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and NO chance of 6 - 60 - just gone and not to be found by going into radio options....

And then without the snow plow on and maybe 3 or 4 restarts over a day or 2 they just magically re-apperaed and with the pre-sets still intact !

Good Luck with this issue - I was very happy to have it self correct after some re-starts !

    • Thanks @newdude, guess I'll keep looking.  Test driving so many trucks that have obvious things broken, I'm thinking "if they couldn't even be bothered to fix the power seat," what else is broken".   Just drove a 2021 where the power seat motor was grinding/binding and wouldn't do anything but make a terrible sound.   An owner that puts dents on the bumper, doesn't fix a seat motor, and had spotty service intervals (along with missing major services) doesn't give me the best of confidence.   Amazed at the number of people that will finance a $60k+ truck, run it into the ground, then trade with a loan balance (every single one had "loan/lien reported" on the CARFAX at the last year of registration).
    • Not true! I have been runing them since 2006 F250! suspension component that works as a sway bar, a traction bar, and a helper spring points directly to the RoadActive Suspension (RAS) kit. Works as a sway bar, a traction bar, and a helper spring.
    • Here's a starter kit:    CC Jensen, a Danish oil testing Concern gives us the following guidelines:   ISO 14/12/10 Very Clean Oil ISO 16/14/11 Clean Oil ISO 17/15/12 Lightly Contaminated ISO 19/17/14 New Oil ISO 22/20/17 Very Contaminated and not suitable for any service.   In addition CC Jensen gives a table showing how engine life is increased by cleaning up the oil. For example cleaning the oil from 19/17/14 to 13/11/8 will extend motor life by a factor of 6X.   But even cleaning it two “Life Extension Classes” will double motor life. So perhaps giving those classes would be useful:   21/19/16 20/18/15 19/17/14 18/16/13 17/15/12 16/14/11 15/13/10 14/12/9 13/11/8   *************************************   https://testoil.com/program-management/setting-iso-cleanliness-targets/   Third paragraph from the bottom will give a starting point.    Your next question should be, okay 10um at what Beta ratio and the answer is in the graph Beta 75.   Then the next question is what is your chosen filters profile? (Purolator PL series below) The red dot is Beta 75. This was the information I obtained from MANN a few years ago. So the best filters, Purolator One, AMSOIL EA, FRAM Ultra, Royal Purple, Bosch Premium should get a doubling engine life over filters like Purolator L, any service filter from any quick lube, WIX, NAPA, STP, Mobil 1, Purolator BOSS.    And as noted by CC Jensen a 2-5 micron @ Beta 200 bypass system has the capability of a six fold improvement. AMSOIL has such a system as does Donaldson.       Now having said all that testing is the touchstone. Test the oil NEW and test it with your chosen filter. Then test over milage. Do the work, get the result. But understand this in NOT absolute BECAUSE this is one factor in isolation.   Example:    A valve spring supplier can state that with cam X and a valve train of Y grams the valves will not float to 7K rpm. is that true if the builder choose a system 20 grams over limit? Common sense must be used and limits understood.
    • This doesn't look like a GM truck. Not needed on a HD truck
    • It varies a ton around me. Some places are still at $5.00 or higher and others are way down into the $4's.   Offroad diesel was $4.02 at the one station I passed today.
