Anyone add dash speakers to 4 speaker setup?

The RC only has the 4 speaker setup, anyone tie in dash speakers yet? Can't be too crazy but I don't like to reinvent the wheel.

I would ditch the idea of dash speakers. That's a lot of work for nor reason. Custom tweeter mounts in the A-Pillar will give you better imaging and will be much easier and cheaper. Just my 2 cents.

Eh, not wanting to tear in to the a-pillar for tweets, and it would be less work to install them in the factory locations.

OK, maybe I dont have the right picture in my head. So you have 4 door speakers. Does you dash have the cutouts for the speakers along with the grill cover? Basically a normal 1500 dash just no speakers added? Is that right? I was thinking you didn't have the speaker cutouts in the dash, hence why I said a pillar would be easier. If that's the case, yes, you can use a crossover and tweeters of choice. You would need to make a custom mount unless you use the OEM speaker because the OEM speaker size is aa ridiculous 3.257" or so. Not a size you'd find off the shelf.

Thats correct.... It has a spot for them to go behind the grill but no speakers. I grabbed some GM Bose Pillar speaker pods out of a 2012 Tahoe that I will install in my pillars during the dash speaker install. It has the same radius as the 2014 pillars so a little time with a dremel tool ought to get a perfect hole for the install.

I did my full system (well 3/4 of a system) and still use my stock dash speakersspeakers. They aren't terrible but they are not great. Just haven't felt like taking the time to disassemble and modify them. Our dash speaker is a more of a midrange speaker and I'm worried I won't get the sounds I want from a small tweeter due to its location. Stock speakers will be fine if you want a quick, cheap fix for better sound. Other than that, go through the thread I showed you and contact the op aswell. He is very knowledgeable and helped me a lot during my build.

The factory dash speakers are only $10 each, I will probably just use those. They sound fine in my 2015 Crew Cab.

Did you have any problems when you disconnected the door speakers in the front? I'm reading that they are on the same wire as the dash speakers. I disconnected mine, added some new 6x9 to run off an amp, and the dash speakers stopped working. Any ideas?

I know I'm way late to the party on this page, but did anyone ever determine if the dash speakers are plug and play? I have the wiring and want to add the speakers but if it's not plug and play I won't bother because I could live without them.
