No Dashboard in a 2015

After picking up a brand new chevy silverado on 10/29 it did not make it until Halloween without losing it's dashboard, cluster, and onstar. On Monday I drove the vehicle back to the dealer and they were able to replicate the issue but they told me that they have never seen it before. They told me to drive it in which I did to not make it 75 miles and the dash went back out. Now it has been at the dealer since Tuesday (11/3) and now they are waiting on "parts". So they put me in a trax in the meantime which is nothing like the silverado I leased...According to the service manager I'll have it back by the end of next week. Mind you the truck does not even have 300 miles on it. I'll upload pics later, but should I request a chevy rep?

I'd be raising hell that they put you in a trax I'd want a comparable silverado.

The title of this post almost made me laugh. For a second I though they forgot to put in the dashboard at the factory. Fortunately it is just the illumination and display that vanished. This sounds like another bad connection or loose wire saga. It may be difficult to find the root cause without systematic checking of the wiring connections and taking resistance readings across a connector for each wire to see if there is continuity. Or it could be something simple as loose electrical connection in the fuse box. Good luck with this.

While sucks to have an issue this early in ownership, I am confused as to where it states you are to be put back into the same style vehicle you own/lease? The manual only states that if repairs are to take overnight that GM/the manufacture is to put you into a loaner vehicle that is a GM product, it states nothing that the vehicle be brand new or that it has to be the same type of vehicle you currently drive.

Be happy you got a rental. Some dealers don't offer that. Not sure what a rep will do if the dealer is working and waiting parts

Policy maybe what it is but, IMO if I am paying for a full size 40k truck I should not have to drive a shit box econo suv.

Ok so I got it back from the dealership and don't you think 20 min away it does it yet again...Called the dealership and they don't want to hear it because they already changed the dash, instrument panel, display and climate controls and they told me that between them and GM engineers they have no idea of what it could be. I pulled over shut it off and started it back up and it has been fine since, but if it does it again what should I do?

Knock on wood it has been good since its hiccup, but I'll have to try another dealer if it does it again. Thanks davidio840 I didn't even think about another dealer because I figured this one has witnessed the problem, so they would be best suited to fix but maybe I'll give it a shot somewhere else if it happens again.
