If I had waited a year to get my Silverado...

My truck would be the top pic instead of the bottom pic if I'd waited until 2016 to buy my truck.

 

I like the 2016s mostly, except in LTZ and HC guise I think the 2014/15 has a more refined look. (I know there are those who will say it is just sour grapes.)

 

If I only had the new style to choose from I think I would have had a harder time choosing between the Frrds and GMs based on looks.

Or I would have gone with one of the painted front end versions.

 

BTW pricing these two years with same equipment the 2016 comes out about 5K more in MSRP, could that be right? (Maybe I messed something up.)

 

 

 

I should state I have not seen any of the 2016s in person yet so I may change my mind once I do. AutoShow is coming up next week, hopefully there will be some there.

I don't care for the '16 in white but I have seen the darker colors in person with the color match grill and I think they look good. But the 14/15 models to me look more like the square '80 style, and I really did enjoy those trucks.

I liked the squared off look of the 14/15 with chrome. Now the painted Z71's I would take a 2016

My entire motivation for trading in an early model 2014 for a late model 2015 was simple-iI neither liked the look nor the ride of the 2016. Now maybe I just saw/drove an early build clunker, but a great deal and an awesome new truck made it a no brainer.

For the chrome grill Silvy's I like the 14/15 MUCH more. The painted 16's look OK, but they look kind of "swollen" for lack of a better word.

16's are 5k more and you won't change your mind when you see the 16's. You'll be glad you have what you have! And don't worry about the sour grapes part, many think the 14/15 are better looking trucks.

Yup I plan to keep it a long time. All of my previous trucks I've owned well past 100,000 miles, taking the most recent one to 175k.

so much disappointment with the 16. i might reserve judgement for a color matched front end but the rest SUCK. very glad i have a 15 right now but i have a seriously bad problem with not keeping my vehicles for any length of time. longest i have owned anything is 22 months. so what to do when i get the itch? maybe i will go duramax HD before they change that body but a crew won't fit in the garage.

+1 on the 14/15 models looking better than the regular 16 model, but some of the matching grill models look sorta nice.

But I havn't seen them in person yet, so I'm not sure. No regrets about getting a 15 and "not" holding out for a 16.

Sorry, but that '16 LTZ front end is a giant step backward. The '14 and 15s are so much more tasteful with simple straight lines. I never cared for the bumper on the '07-'13s. Now they're back to the bumper with the big humps on the ends again. Just my opinion. The LED's are a giant step forward though! The Z71 looks a bit better but I still like the '14 and 15 better.

I liked the 2015 Silverado custom sport or midnight edition. The rally's were sort of nice. It don't really like the 16's either but led head lights are the step in the right direction. The 2016 Ltz led tail lights are the ugliest I ever seen in a truck, it looks cheap! The 8 speed and the wireless charging and the other cool items are great. They should of brought in blind spot detection thou. Regards to the gmc sierra update I don't know if I likes it yet or not
