Possible to replace lower control arm bushings?

I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the LCA bushings on my 2014 Sierra with aluminum suspension. I've already replaced both lower ball joints and my truck still seems like the front end is loose. I'm guessing if the ball joints were bad then the bushings are probably worn too. I currently have 86000 kms on the truck.

Can you actually verify any failed parts? What is the truck doing? can you elaborate on "Loose"

I've replaced the shocks and ball joints and it still seems to jar up going over imperfections as well as a loose feeling steering wheel. I've checked other suspension parts and nothing seems bad. I'm going to do a dry park test tomorrow. I've also tried swapping tires from a 2015 silverado to rule out my 22's and it still the same.

have you driven other 14/15 models?

yup they all ride night and day different. My truck was originally owned by a farmer and it saw 73,000 km of gravel roads in one year.

Does the control arm have any play in it? Can you wiggle the front tires when the tires are suspended in the air? Usually if it's a bushing it will be pretty obvious but i could be wrong. What kind of shocks did you put on the truck? how do the sway bar bushings look?

I also am not sure if i understand the use of the word "loose" it's very broad and unclear.

It's hard to explain how my truck is, but when I say hit a pot hole, in my truck I can hear the front end moving, not like a clunk or a pop though. When I hit the same thing in a new truck while test driving it or in friends trucks they handle it fine, ya it hits it hard and you can feel it, but the truck itself handles it way better than mine.

I dont have any play with the truck suspended and visually the bushings look fine, which is why I'm going to try a dry park test, this way there's stress of the weight of the vehicle on the truck.

I've replaced the sway bar bushings already. I've tried the stock rancho z71 shocks, rancho 9000xl all around on the lowest settings and now I have bilstein 4600 all around. The bilstein are the best riding out of all three shocks.

Another thing to note is that my truck really binds or jars up on expansion joints, you can feel them through the entire truck, where other 2014+ gm trucks I've rode in arent nearly as bad, some of the imperfections that cripple my truck aren't even noticeable in other trucks so there has to be something worn out.

If anyone could answer my question about if the bushings are replaceable or not that would be great.

What about your sway bar ends and coil springs? how do those look? 86000km is roughlty 53000 miles. Too early to be having such issues on a truck without a major front end component being bad. Like the coils.

Sway bar end links have been replaced with poly bushings, springs look brand new, but hard to telll how beat up they are. I'm looking at trading it in today because they're offering me $4000 more than I paid for it in feb. Combined with 20% off msrp right now.

They want to sell my truck in the states because our dollar is worth nothing right now apparently a lot of Americans are buying Canadian trucks to save $.

I paid $31,000 for my truck, and they're offering me $35,000.

new ltz silverado is $55,000 -$11,000 = $44,000 - $35,000 = $9,000 to upgrade to a new truck with no miles (mine has 86,000km)

I'd only get a silverado if it was colour matched though. I'm also looking at new rams and f150's. I test drove the new f150 the other day. Nice truck but it still looks inside and out like the old f150's, lots of hard plastic inside. The torque from the ecoboost is nice though and it feels light and peppy. Cabin space is massive compared to a gm as well. The price on a comparable sticker was $67,000 though :O

Sucks that your ride is still so rough. Makes a guy wonder what the preeviouss owner might done to it. Could it be possible that the frame was damaged aat some point? I've seen boxed frames that cracked up front either near the strut mounts or the crossmember. Either way it sounds like you would be better off taking the deal.

I spent a lot of time this summer cleaning and painting the frame and I didn't notice anything. the truck looks immaculate inside and out which is the worst part. I love my truck, but I hate driving it. I've thought it was all the shocks I've been buying that were stiff. Not only is it stiff but the entire interior is loose and cracks and pops with every imperfection in the road. It grinds my gears getting into someones little shit box vehicle and it rides smoother than my truck.

One thing I noticed about these trucks is how soft motor mounts are, its possible you are getting excessive engine movement, which can create all of the symptoms you are experiencing...

But that trade in sounds like a damn good deal, I would jump on that and never look back...
