Red LED that matches GMC interior lights?

I am looking to put some subtle lighting in the rear seating are of my CC and am thinking of adding a red LED to the rear console area. Has anyone done this before and what LED did you use to match the existing GMC red? I would wire the light so that it was on with the dash lights.

Thanks in advance.

I know it's not red, but since Chevy uses a teal color, I had to make my own matching color LED. I bought some teal spray paint for glass (translucent). I already had a pair of small XKGlow white LED pods that I used for the footwell lighting, so I sprayed painted one of them with the translucent teal color until it matched(2-3 light coats) the OEM teal color.

Your photo doesn't show up. The camaros use aqua blue lighting. From the sites above you can also get this color. Will post a pic shortly from my iPad

Dg805 can you share how you installed that light in the rear of the console? That is a mod I am considering. Thanks!

Here is a quick video I did, I figured it'd be easier than going back and forth with replies on this thread. Don't mind my dirty truck.

So after watching your video again, did i hear you right that your greenish light in the rear is wired to come on when its dark outside and the doors are closed? I too used the XKGlow for my footwells and have a few left over. My footwell lights are rigged to come on when the doors open or when I turn on the dome lights.

Yes that is correct. My footwell lights are wired the same way, they only come on when the doors are open or I turn on all the overhead lights with the main switch on the overhead. That purple wire with green stripe turns on and stays on when it's dark and it also turns on when any door is open, day or night. So while driving at night, that ambient greenish LED I installed stays on, while the footwell lights stay off until I open a door.

Awesome I may look into doing this. Did you use Krylon Sea Foam Spray Paint in Sea foam color to make the Chevy color led?
