Sub & Keeping space.

I know there are tons of topic about adding subs, etc. I actually still have a really nice sub/amp combo that was made for my old 2014. But for my brand new truck, I want to reclaim some space under the back seat. Don't think I want to install my old set up.

I was thinking about a small sub/amp combo.. something I can also sit things on top of it needed. Does anyone have any ideas some something compact? I know it likely won't bump like my old set up.. but I'm kinda getting over that. Want more space.

what about these?

More money but this http://www.jlaudio.com/cs112tg-tw3-car-audio-powerwedge-subwoofer-systems-93303. Hozer has it.. 12 inch Sib plus if you already have an amp. Done and done. 75 watt Kenwood I don't think will be to impressive. Check out sonicelectronic or caraudio.com. I wish I researched a little bit more before getting my setup...and I researched a ton

A lot of people might think it is asinine, depends on what is important to you.. but you can very easily have a reputable audio shop build a weatherized (rhino lined) box in the bed and port it to the cab. If you have a rollnlock or retrax tonneau cover, it would occupy the space under the canister you're likely not using anyway. I just installed a sub under the rear seat and short of moving the box to the bed, they are the largest we can get back and retain the seating area. I would like to have had a set of 10 or 12" JL W7s back there but its just not feasible with kids.

I have (2) 12''s under my backseat. With the kids, the seat never gets folded up anyways so it's no loss of space for me. Besides, the tools go in the bed of the truck!

What kind of 12"s ?

interesting. Can I just replace the stock sub in the console? without adding any amps, etc? what is a good sub replacement?

Do you have a Bose radio. If so not sure how that works. Mine is nonbose but I'm sure you can do it. I've seen sub's in the console

I made my own Box for under the rear seat. One 10" bottom fired 250 W RMS sub with a square port that exits right between the seats. The other 1/2 of the box I made into under seat storage to hold some things. Works well, not to fancy, not the slamming bass like a teenager wants. But sounds WAAAY better.

Well I can attest to polyfill. My box sounded good but was lacking. I was reading on polyfill and i have a ton for my fish tank as water filters. Took some poly and sparingly put in the box. Wow. Not wow I have 2 12s wow but I actually could tell there was a noticeable lower freq range it would play....a bit louder....just nicer tight bass for my rock and country. Hip hop is worlds better. Now it hits you

+1 to the center console sub idea. I plan to do it this way when I get the time/motivation.

I also have the Bose, but just plan to replace the Bose subwoofer with one of my choice.

You will want to add aftermarket amp as well -- the Bose amp won't be adequate for any upgrades from the stock sub.

From what I can tell on the DIY site installation they had to reduce the front pocket area to fit the sub box in the console, and it was amped separately from amps in the rear. I don't think the factory Bose amp has enough power to make one bump, unless perhaps you run a dual voice coil sub in 2ohm mode.

When I blocked the bass out of the doors it was evident the factory Bose sub does not have enough impact for the truck cab.
