Thoughts on supercharger for 5.3

What I am finding most frustrating about the Magnuson is that I contacted them to ask about a kit. They said they didn't have one yet and put my name on a list for when they get one done. She said they were waiting on a vehicle to check fitment...

Then, In response to hotrodder's post that he got his from Lingenfelter,I got a hold of them to ask for the instructions so I could look over them before I buy. They responded that they are going to ask Magnuson for the instructions because they don't have them. Are you kidding me?

I can't make this stuff up. Not sure what's up with Magnuson and LIngenfelter since they both have the kits listed on their websites!!!

I'm looking at the installation pdf right now. Magnuson emailed me the file, that is weird. If you want to pm me an email address I can send it to you.

That's crazy. I would definitely appreciate the file. I'll pm you my email address. Not sure why they are giving me the run round. Doesn't inspire confidence.

I have to say that I asked for the installation manual before I purchased, but could not get one. That didn't stop me from buying, however. The kit is very very well engineered and packaged into bags that are used in order. The instruction manual was step by step and full color. Everything was included in the kit and everything looks like a factory install. I get many compliments on the SC.

Lingenfelter is a dealer for Magnuson. When you order the kit from Lingenfelter, it is drop shipped from Magnuson.

I get that. But I have emails from Magnuson saying the kit doesn't exist. I have emails from Lingenfelter saying they don't have the instructions...

Clearly the kit exists because you and others have it installed. Thanks to thetruck454 for sending me the instructions. Only thing I found not difficult, but more then you should have to do for a fully finished kit, is the wiring splicing. Having done a lot of electronic repair, they could have easily provided a harness adapter that did exactly this and did not require modifying the stock harness. Again, not difficult, but not crazy about cutting the factory harness.

I don't know if you have the right instructions or misreading them, but there is no wiring splicing AT ALL. There are connectors for everything. The only thing that comes close to a splice is a fuse tap, but that again, is a connector. There is NO, I repeat NO, cutting of a factory harness.

I had no issues what so ever getting my kit. I placed my order through summit racing and it shipped within a week.

Someone mentioned a $13,500 kit too? I assume turbo- again, I'm sure it's wild, but that is crate motor territory....factory warrantied crate motor territory...

As already mentioned that was for a SC, but yikes for $13.5k with a turbo you better be turboing 2 trucks lol.

Hey guys I’ve been watching these forums for a while now and figured I’d chime in!! I have a 16 Silverado that I bolted a whipple supercharger on. Kit came with the 4.3 pulley boosting at 6psi with my longtubes. Put the 3.875 pulley on and now we’re boosying a constant 10psi fluctuating to 11. Have had no issues with fueling, we leaned out a little on top end and added 15% more fuel and was waaaay to rich. Ended up taking 13% away again. 10-11 psi at 11.8afr. Truck also has longtubes, full exhaust, catch can, caltracs, Hoosiers, pillar set up. Put down 512whp and runs a 12.6 in the 1/4 @ 109. In my opinion fueling on these new gen v trucks is good for 600whp if not more. Just ordered a smaller pulley for 2 more psi, snow stage 1 month, lt4 throttle body and Lingenfelters 2 step. I will let you guys know how it goes! Also you can look my tuner up on face book at lsx guys or Dedrick’s auto service. Any questions feel free to ask.
